DCA thoughts
Don’t get me wrong with the content of this post; I’m excited about the changes being made to DCA. The new boardwalk game facades look fantastic, but is anyone else a little nervous by the cuts being made? The walkway around Mickey’s Fun Wheel is gone. The canopy over King Tritons Carousel is gone, leaving the dreadful one which has been there since opening. The queue to Mickey’s Fun Wheel has been cut. Maliboomer is staying. These are major de-scopes which have a huge impact on the overall feel of Paradise Pier. As the new changes occur, these are elements, which look more and more out of place in their new surroundings and ruin the attempt at visual immersion, which this park is so lacking. In the whole scheme of things these de-scopes may not seem like much, but as they begin to add up, think of them and their missing details as you look at the whole re-do of the pier and see if you don’t agree. It’s the little details such as these, which take the Disney parks light years beyond its competitors and have clearly defined a difference between DCA and DL. Tthink of how the Aladdin Carousel at TDS would look if it had been de-scoped to the canopy which is on King Tritons Carousel and how that would affect the look of the land and its ability to immerse the guest in the environment. Thoughts?

I do think disney has some small plans for the things being cut, and retheming maliboomer. Not to much ofthe stuff cut will effect it, they most likely will find ways to cover-up the areas cut so they will still look nice.

Actually the carousel canopy might be happening, just not in this phase. And I find that if they just rethemed Maliboomer, than it would be better than removing it altogether.

I dont think they could remove maliboomer in the first place without going over the budget.
