So apparently the Sun Wheel didn't close today.

10-13-2008 02:21 PM #3Yes, our world has indeed become a world of motion. We have engineered marvels that take us swiftly over land and sea, through the air, and into space itself. And still bolder and better ideas are yet to come. Ideas that will fulfill our age old dream to be free. Free in mind. Free in spirit. Free to follow the distant star of our ancestors to a brighter tomorrow. - World of Motion (1982-1996)

Mickey's Fun Wheel
So, has the Sun Wheel closed yet?
It was supposed to close October 13 but didn't, and someone said they thought maybe it would close at the end of the day on the 13th.

October 31st has not arrived yet, so we don't know if that date is true or not. I don't blame you about the Sun Wheel, though.

Man, does the sun ever shine on your house, or is there a giant black cloud obscuring the warmth all of the time? Making the preparations to shut the Sun Wheel down might be interlocked with draining the lagoon. It really never made any sense to shut the ride down early anyway since no significant work can be done while the water is around it. Sometimes (and I know this is difficult to understand but) Disney knows what they're doing without the help of us calling them out on it. I'm just as excited to see the work start, but I'm not here to sarcastically create doubt about the legitimacy of the makeover. The money has been approved, the plan is going public - AND - we have full proof of the new caliber of DCA detailing in the park already! Or have we already forgotten the utterly gorgeous Midway Mania structure? If the Sun Wheel's progress gets knocked off by a few days...who cares? It'll get done, you just have to have patience...and a softer tongue.

The last operating day of the Sunwheel was yesterday, Oct 13. I guess they kept it open an extra day due to Columbus day. But as of today, Oct 14, it was closed until it reopens as Mickey's Fun Wheel
