So.. a simple question:
Do you think DCA will reach capacity on the 11th? Along those lines, what about DL?

CM previews tonight had the park area HORRIBLY CLOGGED. There were two queues for the second CM preview tonight and one stretched from Ariel's Rotunda back through GRR area past Soarin' and to the Sunshine Plaza. The other queue started at the light pillar near Ariel's and went back to Bugs Land. I don't know how this is going to work when the park is actually open...

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

They'll have to learn crowd control. It sounds simple, but apparently they're not used to doing it.
One thing i've always found interesting is how crowds are handled in the parks on peak days - of that one thing that's always impressed me was Epcot's World Showcase. It's very compact aside from the main walkway with lots of little entrances and lines that can't be blocked-off lest an entire shop or restaurant be blocked from guests. They actually tape out the pathways on the ground with arrows and in some area divide walks with stanchions and ropes - two lanes, one each direction.
What I found impressive was not only that they do this, but never do it any other time - and yet it works really well. Must be something they learned how to do at some point and re-used as needed.
I think DCA never got to those sorts of levels so now they're feeling it out as they go. Given some time they'll likely have very distinct plans for sectioning off areas and controlling flow.

There is a simple solution to all this nonsense... stop issuing fast passes for this show! In my opinion, I think it was the dumbest move ever! Let people camp out all they want. When the place gets packed, have the cast members keep them moving just like in Fantasmic. This keeps people out of the walkways (in form of lines) and keeps people moving through out the park.
These stupid WOC fast passes are such a head ache. Head ache for the machines at grizzly, head ache for CMs trying to keep the park organized, head ache for people trying to get around because its clogging up the path ways, head for the trams after shows (I saw people unloading from the tram with the fast passes), and honestly head ache for those trying to watch the show because they have no clue where they are going or they are suppose to stand during the show.
I don't ever remember Fantasmic having to issue passes to be viewed, so why do it for this show? Yeah, so Fantasmic has lots more room for people to view, but Fantasmic still gets clogged up with peeps, and CMs have people moving if they don’t fit in the viewing area. It causes them to keep moving on to other rides and coming back for a later showing.
Dlfreak, you are lucky you got to view the show last night, but I got to experience being in the park without the purpose of viewing the show. After all that mess I was walking through in those areas, I totally wanted to avoid that side of the park completely. In fact, I retreated to Disneyland a few minutes before the first show even started.
In terms of the issues with the trams.....walking is a great alternative for me if I'm at M&F, but the Toy Story lot is the way to go in my opinion.

i"m not sure DCA will reach capacity on June 11, but I'd bet on June 21-22 it will with the last two days for So Cal Select to get into the Park for the summer, in years past, they have actually scheduled 3 Fantasmic! for these nights. June 14-15 may hit capacity as well.

The fastpass system is really irritating. For one, you have to get there at a certain time to get your pass, fantasmic and fireworks are first come first serve on site bases. I would like to be able to come after school (I live and hour and a half away) and be able to see the show. Because of this system out of towners who may show up a half hour later may expierence problems. Another issue, color coding sections, I mean it is ok that they do that but if you get seperated from your group it would be a nightmare for CM's, espeacially with the more rebellious crowds. They should cancel the fastpass, move the reserved section somewhere else, and let guests choose where they want to sit.

I'm all for no camping out. I hate the squatter town that develops in Disneyland. I'm glad they are trying something else.
