Thumbs up What about the future?!

So with the end in sight, 2012 brings DCA lots and lots of new attractions, decorations, theming, story and most of all: heart.

But: what will happen after 2012? What are the rumors? Will they continue to please us with great new things or will they wait and see and maybe don't build anything new for the coming 5 years...

From what I'm hearing sights will turn a bit to Disneyland once DCA construction is finished next year until they can see just how much a phase 2 is needed. Nothing super concrete for Disneyland, plans keep a-changin' but things should get entertaining at Disneyland in the coming years if all goes well.

With the crowds growing, how soon before the third theme park gets going?

On my last few visits, I kept thinking how less enjoyable Disneyland is now, compared to 20 years ago. Not attractions, just the crowd insanity. Yes there were busy days, but the fact that there was an off season made for some very nice days at the park. We have lost that off season time and every trip seems to be a crush of humanity. For whatever reason, Disneyland walkways are just jammed. I guess I am hoping they don't do anything to Disneyland in terms of an "E" ticket. Freshen up the park and keep it nice, but put the money into another gate. The crowds just need to be thinned. And Disneyland is already attraction heavy, compared to WDW Magic Kingdom, DLP, etc.

DCA can't soak up crowds as it is. And after Carsland opens, it will be a zoo too. Unless Disney can find a way to manage crowds better, please open up the queues once more, the magic is just not as good as it used to be. Maybe it is my age, but I feel Disneyland is being loved to death.

I really hope they turn their focus to Disneyland after all this DCA stuff.

it seems like DCA will only get updates, like enhancements, entertainment (WoC/Newsies/that new parade everyone was talking about), and perhaps another ride in a few years... possibly in Hollywood Backlot or Grizzly's area...

    thoughts?!

Well, I hope they will "finish" Paradise Pier: 3rd dark ride, carousel upgrade, Funwheel queue update, CalScreamin' update (queue etc.) and finally something new where the Goofy ride is now.
That would make this part of the park so much better!

And yes, Hollywoodland needs something new and can use an update too. There's plenty left to do in DCA!

I'm sure the rest of DCA will get done, it's just a matter of when. I'm pretty sure we won't ever see a large scale expansion as we have now. Things will get done one at a time.

Come 2012, the parks will never have looked better. I'm confident that things will only get better as time goes on.

I have a feeling this will happen. My guess is we'll see most of the attention shift to Disneyland after 2012, with Phase 2 of DCA happening sporadically over the rest of the decade.

A few years back there were rumors of a Tomorrowland redo after Phase 1 of DCA was finished, but I haven't heard anything since.
