As Far As The Eye Can SEA - A Review of Steven M. Barrett's Hidden Mickeys Go to Sea"

By now, long time readers of MouseInfo should know of Steve M. Barrett; he is the undoubted king of Hidden Mickeys and his popular books chronicle the various Hidden Mickeys that you can find around Walt Disney World Resort and most recently Disneyland Resort.

Today, we're happy to announce that Barrett has expanded the unending quest for the mouse to the high seas with Hidden Mickeys Go to Sea: A Field Guide to Disney Cruise Line's Best Kept Secrets!

Although these sets of books are unofficial guides to finding the familiar trio of linked circles, they can actually be found for purchase within the Disney Parks themselves (as well as at your local bookstores)! You can usually find one or all the most recent additions of these books in various shops throughout either the Disneyland or Walt Disney World Resorts, usually wherever books are sold.

Many Disney enthusiasts are probably quite aware of various online websites and guides to finding the Mickeys and may question why owning a hard copy of the book would be necessary when the information can be acquired for free online. There's a few good answers.

First of all, what you get here is a guarantee that the Mickeys are visually confirmed by a set of rightfully strict set of guidelines. Plus, when you're out in the Caribbean (or abroad their special cruises to Europe) enjoying your hunt, you'd be hard-pressed to find a solid internet connection that would allow you to chronicle the mouse online.

    Hidden Mickeys before you board?

What’s really great about Hidden Mickeys Go to Sea and all the other guides in this series are that the book itself is conveniently portable. You can easily stow this away in your day-bag or even a back pocket—ready to grab when you feel you might be on the track to finding a Hidden Mickey.

A recurring feature with Barrett's guidebooks are the fun play-along Scavenger Hunts to track your progress of finding the Mickeys. And what's great about this book is that it is good for both the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder as well as Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas where the ship ususally makes port.

Whether you've never been on a Disney Cruise or if you're the avid sailor looking for something new or interesting to do aboard the ship, this book is a safe bet for any Disney enthusiast.

Kid’s undoubtedly get a kick out of trying to find the various Mickeys and it’s a fun way for the whole family to play along and pass some relaxing downtime. Or you could make a family adventure out of it and see who can be the most avid buccaneer to find the most hidden "treasure."

The book doesn’t leave you high-and-dry to find the Mickey’s yourself. If you’re more interested in actually just finding the Mickey’s without playing the hunt, there’s also an entire Hints section that breaks down each of the Clues with more descriptive notes on where to find the lovable mouse.

Uses are plentiful for this little book and the best part is it’s a great gift for ANYBODY who is going on a Disney Cruise. Whether it’s to help keep the little ones alert, a tool for the "been there done that" cruiser, or for a first-time cruising family, this book can only enhance what is sure to be a fun and exciting voyage with Disney.

This Disney Cruise Line version of the book is the shortest yet in the series but also the cheapest retailing for $6.95. Truly, you can't beat the value for a nice bon voyage gift. You can pick up your own copy of Steven M. Barrett's Hidden Mickeys Go to Sea: A Field Guide to Disney Cruise Line's Best Kept Secrets at your local bookstores or directly online from the Intrepid Traveler.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

Great little review I can't wait to pick it up!
And really it is a great price.
