This seems like a Catch 22. You don't expect a lot of people to visit, so you build a "cheaper" park with less attractions - and guess what - people don't show up. Maybe it's the chicken and the egg. Anyway, I've heard people say that China doesn't have any decent theme parks so anything will impress them. Now, that's the attitude!

Re: Disney Hong Kong
The park may have a lot less attractions to begin with, but let me say they are not cutting corners as far as the product as a whole is concerned.

If you have details, I'd love to hear them. What is the "product as a whole?"

Meaning the Resort as a whole? The complete project!

Re: Disney Hong Kong
I didn't mean "pathetic coverage" from mouseinfo at all. I meant for the chinease govornment and disney. They pay for a site with credible graphics, begin to provide updatesand then what? totallyforget about it? I think that disney should be using this website to provide serious updates liek once a month at leat to creat a buzz about there multimillion dollar project, Why not start now?

Admittedly, I haven't seen the plans, but if the reported low number of attractions is accurate that would seem to institute cutting corners.

I'm guessing (and that's all I'm doing), is that Michael is getting at the huge costs of the land reclaim. The actual building costs of filling in the bay, the environmental clean up, etc. Not to mention the hotels, power, roads, etc.

Of course I could be off completely and Michael is talking about something else.
