Coaster? What coaster? I never heard of any coaster!
Heard of a Jungle Cruise, a Tarzan Island, but no coaster.
    What gives with the coaster?

Well, I can explain why nobody cares. It's a zillion miles away from here, it'll be worse than DCA, and it's not designed for Americans to enjoy. It's designed for the Chinese to enjoy.

I don't care about the park itself, but I do care if it does well for Disney.

The park is designed CHEAP. Its not up to disney standards. Every dl sister park is a wider pathed, more beautifull, better architectural version of dl, while this takes the same main street, same midget castle, a cool tommorowland, a large adv land with barely any rides, no waters of america, no pirates I beleive, no toontown, and a crappy fantasyland with allmost all the same rides as dl, not that dls bad, but they didnt try to make the landscaping mix with the theme like paris or elaborate the existing product.

Size doesn't matter (except when it's crowded). I for one was a little dissapointed with Magic Kingdom, despite the fact that it's supposed to be "bigger and better" than Disneyland.

The amount of attractions is really a let down at Hong Kong Disneyland. Chances are I won't be going any time soon because of this, so that's why I really don't pay much attention to this project. At least it's surroundings will be beautiful.

I really hope they make the castle bigger in Hong Kong. Let Disneyland keep the smallest castle as a reminder of what Walt wanted at DL.

Itll have "the same castle as disneylands". Dont remember who said it, where i heard it from, but itll be that way. Maybe bigger, who knows. I wish for diseylands 50th and for hong kong they would make the castles 40 feet taller. People may object to this, because walt made it or whatever, but he also said the park will never be finished if imaginations left in the world, and made a rod thing on the castle gold to make that statement bold.

That rumor was actually revealed to just be that...a rumor. And that isn't even what the rumor was exactly.

And no, Sleeping Beauty Castle needs to stay the way it is. Being able to see it from outside the park would totally suck. Walt wanted it small, so it should stay small. The Matterhorn complements it perfectly.

    Re: Disney Hong Kong

Basically because he wanted his park to have a quaint, intimate feel which a large castle would completley take away. Magic Kingdom (even though I love Cinderella's Castle to) proves this to be true.

Here's a quote from the Walt Disney Family Museum:
"His instincts in this brand-new field were amazing. For example, he decided to keep the castle relatively small -- only about 77 feet above the moat. Writes Disney archivist Dave Smith, "He recalled that the tyrants in Europe built huge, imposing castles in order to intimidate the peasants. Walt wanted his castle to be friendly, so it was built on a smaller scale." '

If Hong Kong Disneyland is going to be quaint like the original Magic Kingdom, great. But that park still doesn't have the original's vast array of attractions to back it up.

Castle aside, the park may look pretty but has no substance. There will be no Pirates, Small World, Classics of Fantasyland, no Big Thunder Mt, or Haunted Mansion. What they are building is a shell of the original. All these attractions may be added later as WDI told us, but at first the other attractions will make due.
