Makes sense to me. Makes more sense than a second park in China or a park in Australia.
India (along with China) is predicted to become a major world economic power this decade.
The economy is really booming there along with new industries and an emerging new middle class.

They also have one of the largest populations. However, they probably won't serve hamburgers in the car.

From what I understand from my Indian friends, Disney is not all that popular in India, so a Disneyland there seems like a bad idea.
Overall, I think Disney needs to stop building Disneylands. It'll cause less of a reason to go visit others if there is a Disneyland in every country and every state. Its turning into a Six Flags chain. Disney should just focus on the ones they have, and if they have the urge to open a new park somewhere else on the globe, make it original.

I agree. They seem to have already begun sucking Tokyo Disneyland's numbers dry by adding the Hong Kong park and then a Shanghai park after 2010. It is really pathetic that they would continue adding more parks when they have great parks already in Asia and Europe. There is no reason to add potentially dead parks to the short list of ones already in existence except to receive a lot of money in a short amount of time. McDonalds has done the same thing with an oversaturation of the global market and they were in trouble financially because of it.

from an economic standpoint as a company, to please the stockholders, there are 2 ways to increase the value and that is to increase income year over year. and you can try to do that with what you already have. ie. increase attendence and profit in the parks already open. difficult and who wants more people in DLR in summer anyhow.
the other option is to open additional parks and infrease attendence and profit that way.
kind of like General motors has a great presence in USA but to open new markets creates more sales and profits... other countries opens up new markets...
am I for DLB (Disneyland Bombay)
I doubt Id ever see it, will it hurt DLR or WDW I doubt it...
and China and India are the 2 largest markets in the world...with huge expansion in their economys...DCA 1/2 the park, Same low price....
