February 6, 2010 - Rain Comes, the Park Panics



A rainy Friday seeped over for a wet Saturday but no rain by the time the parks opened... or at least by the time we got to the parks at 10 am!




Barely noticeable signage at the Structure informing of the centralized stroller/wheelchair rental area.




Not sure when this happened, but they finally have actual chains here for the strollers instead of the green barriers that always ended up getting shifted around.




Another Stroller/Wheelchair notice. Midnight closing tonight, let's hope it doesn't rain because past trends show that they'll close down the parks!




Former stroller rental shop is progressing with its new facade.




Looks like it won't be a shop any more.




At least they notify that Fantasyland will be closing... hopefully this "weather" doesn't close the whole park!




Cruella's hair dresser needs to lay off on the mousse.




Not a busy day when you can get a picture of this with so few people in the way!




Walls up in Town Square.




Backside of wall. They're creating a recess in the planters all around the park so that trashcans come out of the walkways.

1) My friend knew some info on that new Kinkade painting. A couple other princesses can be found in the painting, Mark Twain is in there, also Tiana is in it a 3rd time with her parents somewhere... So next time you see it, spend some time investigating it closer, it's pretty neat!

2) I REMEMBER HONEY POPCORN!!!! *sniff* So good

Thanks for the info on the Kinkade, it was really high up so we could't take a close look, his other paintings in this vein are also super detailed with extra characters and such in them. They are fun.

I re-uploaded that Kinkade painting photo in full resolution for a better look at the details.

Thank you so much for these updates I love them!! I totally understand that a lot of the park would be affected if it's really rainy but it's a good thing Disneyland isn't up here in Vancouver BC where I live otherwise it'd be closed everyday due to rain . But then again if it were here, I could go way more often!!

I remember Honey Popcorn. I never actually got to try it though. That cart was always closed when I got to it. My sis DisneyAmy said it was fabulous.

It was wonderful to see you two on Saturday!
