    Bay Lake Tower

Here are some pictures I took of the newest DVC - Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort.

    Nice pictures!

Had the Bay Lake Tower been by itself, I would've probably liked it more that with it being next to the Contemporary. For trying to be part of the same resort, the new tower just doesn't fit with the Contemporary Tower, despite both having contemporary designs.

I just don't get why you'd purposefully add to the ugliest WDW resort. Of course, that's subjective, but I've always found the Contemporary to be hugely kitschy and ugly.

But they're gonna make BANK on that new building, right next to the MK. Thanks for the pics...maybe it will gel better when it's all done.

    Does it have 13 floors?
Or will that one be observation deck, resturants and etc. There seems to be two features on top of that.......

The feature at the top is the Top of the World lounge.

    It's a 15-story building.

    .
Right now the Contemporary may seem unattractive to some now, but was the "In" thing in it's day. Victorian, Craftsman, Arts & Crafts, Art Deco, Art Moderne, and Mid Century Modern styles, also suffered from derision after their popularity subsided.

I've always loved the Contemporary, my favorite resort at WDW, The rooms are huge, and the location is great. Too bad I can't afford it anymore.

The new Bay Lake Tower looks nice. However, I really think that all those additional rooms are really going to tax the Grand Canyon Concourse, since that area could get very packed with the Tower and two Garden Wings.

I just wonder how anyone will be able to finance the purchase of one of these DVCs.
