I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."
Disneyland. My Anti-drug.

Thought this was some pretty interesting info passed on to me, haven't been following the Aulani stuff too closely so I'm not sure if this is news or not...
The seven-acre Waikolohe Valley water-play area will mimic the flow of lava as it moves toward the ocean and include Waikolohe Stream, the resort’s mysterious yet fun waterway. Guests will find bubbling water, cloaking mist, water that squirts out of lava rockwork crevices and many more surprises.
For those who love waterslides, Tubestone Curl, the resort’s tube slide, and Volcanic Vertical, Aulani’s tunnel slide, will offer thrills galore. Children are sure to be delighted by Menehune Bridge, a 2,200-square-foot water play area featuring carvings of menehune, legendary little people who are thought to have lived on the islands many, many moons ago.
At the 3,800-square-foot Rainbow Reef snorkel lagoon, guests can interact with a variety of native species, including angelfish, butterfly fish and tangs, that inhabit the salt waters in and around Hawai`i.
As a complement to Rainbow Reef, guests also can visit the conservation pool, which will offer a unique stingray experience available by reservation only. Proceeds from the conservation pool will support local research and conservation efforts in and around the Hawaiian Islands through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund.Last edited by dlfreak; 11-06-2010 at 08:48 AM.

New image of Aulani released by Disney. Major structural work on Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, has been completed. On Thursday, April 21, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc., handed the project to the Disney team, which will add the theming, decor, landscaping and services that guests expect from a Disney vacation spot. Aulani will welcome its first guests on August 29, 2011.

I can't wait for the first trip reports (with photos) to appear. I'm wondering what the overall guest experience will be.

I'd really, really love to stay here but it's wickedly expensive. I pulled random dates in October and the cheapest rooms were $399.00/night. I can't see how the average joe can afford that with airfare but knowing Disney fans, they'll gobble it up even if it bankrupts them.
Looks like we'll use our or friends Marriot rate and just stay next door once we finally go.Suspended in the timelessness of innerspace are the thoughtwaves of my first impressions. They will be our only source of contact once you have passed beyond the limits of normal Magnification... Magnification...Magnfication.
