Re: New Space Mountain Theme
I agree with you. I usually dislike those vending machines, but as far as I know this is the one and only vending machine within Disneyland park.

Re: New Space Mountain Theme
I am going to love this new version of the ride in DLP. The one they have now was getting old and boring. Not as re-rideable as the other three.

Re: New Space Mountain Theme
I think alike, but the present situation being so critical (and this is not 250 million bucks which are gonna raise the bar), ED SCA needs something to grab a few more guests, so they take their #1 hit and try to redo it up with a """new""" theme ; appealing, flashy, modern (who said it was a piece of crap  ), because they just cannot afford something else. Easy and quick, but will it work?

After all when the situation is desperate, you make desperate choices...
PS: I would give a lot to have the point of view of Tim Delaney (chief designer of Discoveryland and Space Mountain) on the present situation...

Does Delaney have an influence on the designs of this new theme? Is he involved at all? If not then he should be based on his experience.

Re: New Space Mountain Theme
I think this is VERY unlikely, this refurbishment must be done by the creative teams of DLRP.

ah man, i have just returned from DLP, and i love Space Mountain more than any other rollercoaster i've been on, n thats a lot... it's just such a special ride. Over all the things they said they're going to change, i really hope the music isn't one of them - it's such a fantastic piece, and so emotional.
some of the changes sound good, but losing the Jules Verne theming is a mistake in my eyes.

Re: New Space Mountain Theme
man, they don't HAVE to change it - i've been on it over 20 times and this time was the best yet. it's meant to be a rough ride, you think a ride through space is going to be gentle?

Re: New Space Mountain Theme
sorry for you lovevekoma but THEY ARE going to change the music for sure! i don't know if you've seen the preview, but i've been to the shareholders meeting and seen a bit what it's gonna look like... and well it's gonna be weird. the trains will be grey like silver but they'll keep the brow headrests. they will cover all the queue line so that we cannot see anymore inside the mountain. the trains will be launched from the back of the canon wich means that the ride capacity will be lower but it the launch will be more impressive.
i think it's all for the moment i'll tell you if i have more news
