    Unhappy Mary poppins Ride

I know this suggestion has been discussed on other boards
at other times but I am wondering why there hasn't been
serious consideration to make this an attraction theme for baby boomers and their kids. Sure this movie doesn't have the same commercial appeal as some of Disney's more recent
features. Practically Perfect Tea is very popular and people would probably riot in the streets if Disney pulled that "We're pulling the movie off the shelves" routine that they do with the animated films. And wouldn't it be nice to walk away from DL with different songs than "It's a Small World" or "Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah" in your head all day? I don't care what Mary Poppins ride is designed either. If they aim higher than the DL version of Pooh, it will be fine as long as it includes "A Spoonful of Sugar" and "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!" ( go to www.niehs.nih.gov/kids/ly...ercal.htm) and "I Love to Laugh" and "Chim Chim Cher-ee" and "Step in Time" and "Sister Suffragette!" Okay, maybe there should be only one, but how would you pick from all the great songs in that movie? I hope the Disney Imagineers don't keep responding to this idea by telling us to go fly a kite. Question: What scenes would you include in a Poppins Ride?

    Re: Mary poppins Ride

My kids just "discovered" this movie a few months ago when I bought the dvd. They love it! Their ages are 8, 12 & 14. (My 16 year old sneeks disney movies in and out of his room regularly, so I'm not sure of his take on MP.) LOL. So, I know they would enjoy a Mary Poppins ride. Heck they enjoy all of the rides in Fantasyland. I'm not sure what scenes I would include but I'd love if it were a flying ride as in Peter Pan.

If memory serves, Tony Baxter designed a MP ride that was part caroussel and part ride-through. The caroussel horses detached from the circular caroussel itself and then went on their way through a show building.

    Re: Mary poppins Ride

I seem to recall Jim Hill mentioning a Mary Poppins ride that had been designed for WDW's Fantasyland. I thought he said you traveled in overturned umbrellas. I think this attraction was to be built insted of Peter Pan. When they were building the Magic Kingdom they were over budget, so they decided on the same dark rides as D'land. They had also designed a Sleeping Beauty (insted of Snow White) and Legend of Sleepy Hollow (insted of Mr Toad). For Sleepy Hollow you were to ride in a hollowed out pumkin.

darn they should build the Sleeping Beauty ride here since the castle is kind of based on that Character.I think they should replace our snow white with the proposed Sleeping Beauty ride, darn that was a good idea too . I wonder if thats why the castle is in rehab hmmm..maybe they are converting it to a ride hmm......juss wonder.

Marry Poppins is in my top 3 disney movies. She's so sexy.I would love to see that ride developed. They could probably fit it in the skyway que area if the rest of ride building went into the btr area.I wouldn't like it if they tried to replace one of the og rides with a new one.I like the carosel idea with the horses coming off and going into the ride, that would be awesome.

I love Marry Poppins and a ride would be great! Love the idea with the horses coming off the carousel. They would have to include the rooftop scene with the chimney sweeps and I love to laugh with uncle albert on the ceiling. Kids love Marry Poppins! I want a Mary Poppins ride now! Spit spot!
    I love Disneyland!!!!
