Re: What To Do With Big Thunder Ranch...
It's used for private parties and business junctions. My mom works for Merrill Lynch and they have junctions in or around the Disneyland resort once a year, it's awesome.

But shouldn't Disney use that land to build more rides instead of renting it out for company picnics and such? Seriously, adding Discovery Bay, or other attractions, into Disneyland, it would really help the park. There are too few attractions for so many people, and the more rides there are the more people they take from the crowded paths.

But Disney Corporate likes the private party money. While the park needs new and additional attractions, Disney Corporate prefers to replace attractions, as this helps keep their labor costs in check.
The Winnie the Pooh attraction could have been built in the Big Thunder Ranch area, with an entrance built where the Skyway facility stands (and would have been in Fantasyland), but the Disney folks decided to replace Country Bear instead, and place the attraction in Crittter Country.Check out my photos at http://darkbeer.smugmug.com

Unless I see something amazing built first, I say don't touch it. TDA hasn't shown me they are up to the task of something as ambitious as Discovery Bay.
They would probably come up with "Primeval World" and copy that Dinoland garbage from DAK. No, let's see their track record improve before they touch the place.
A walkway to Critter Country would be just about all they could handle. Perhaps a Pocahontas themed walk way? It is, afterall, just around the river bend.

Many years ago a friend at the Disney Gallery Store said Imagineers were developing a concept for an underground mine-train ride that would flood with water and shoot riders up an elevator shaft (or something like that). It sounded pretty cool!

I also think that TDS should somehow work that in to Mysterious Island, to go along with the Jules Verne theme.
