Hi guys,
I was just thinking about Grizzly River Rapids. Is there a story to it? I know there is that big old growl as you leave one of the caves, but it might be a good idea to tie in some type of story to the ride. Maybe something tied into the petroglyphs on the rocks before the first drop. Like a story of some campers/rafters going on a trip and things go bad?
What do you guys think?

Yea there is a legend, about some cyote who wanted the Grizzly to protect the mountain from intruders so the cyote turned the grizzly into rock so he could protect it forever. Then people discovered that there was gold and they mined it, then a rafting company discovered Grizzly River and now they have white water rafting tours down Grizzly River Run! that is somthing like how it goes, not exact but a summery.
In a world of creativity there's no end to the possibilities.

I just recently found out they have lockers near GRR to store stuff you don't want to get wet. They are even free (with a time limit of course). I did not know about the story, thanks for the info. My biggest fear is of grizzlies, so I always get chills when going into the cave and hearing the roars
!!!! But I still love it. I love that big bear infront of the ride too. He will be a traditional family pic spot, showing my kids infront of him as they grow.

It is spooky at night. Not much lighting in those caves.
