The newest Orange County Weekly (January 2nd, 2004 edition) has a couple of interesting reads dealing with Disneyland, and Mickey....
Looking Back - The Year in Tomorrow
Cruelty to an Animal - The Year in Mickey Mouse’s 75th birthday
Yes, they are slightly warped, but still are fun and interesting reads...
Happy New Year everyone....![]()

Re: Current state of Tomorrowland, and Mickey's 75th - The Orange County Weekly thoughts
It is rather disgraceful how they've destroyed TL. Not just because the stuff they put in didn't work, but that they took out the tomorrow and replaced it with fantasyland.
It used to inspire people to look ahead. What was the TL98 retrofit supposed to inspire?
It's not just management that's lost their footing, if it is true that they've done so. The creative team, particularly the one who did TL98, simply has no idea as to what it is they are working with and have for years now taken to destroy what was special about the place.
It's not about ornateness, or overblown rides. It's the underlying ideas and how the whole park was put together to form one cohesive concept. That has been totally thrown out the window, and it's really lowered the intelligence of the entire operation. You may contact me via jonvn@nadelberg.com.

Well said, pal. When my wife and I were there during Christmas, all we could say to each other is "poor Tomorrowland."

well since tommarrowland kept becoming today land I'm guessing they figured if they made it look more like how the past USED to see the future it would be more accepted and wouldn't need as much replacing

The New Tomorrowland is an example of Pressler's reign of incompetence. Another example is DCA.
Quote: "For them, Tomorrow’s always around, and not anything to get excited about."
Actually, it's a world of uncertainty. A world where you're liable to experience the worst nightmare in your life.
1. Michael Jackson. May you use your single glove wisely.
2. Old and decrepid attractions. The Old Tomorrowland repackaged as New.
3. Honey, I Really Shrunk The Audience.
4. Innoventions. Marketing synergy plus video games.
5. Empty lagoon. This time I'm referring to the Submarines.
6. Autopia, where you end up where you started.
7. Paint. Peeling is very future oriented.
Yes, there are good things about the New Tomorrowland.

Which is an extremely weak excuse on their part. Very little in the old tomorowland really could not be put in today, with only minor updating.
