No food... no drinks... no restrooms... no shopping... no rides... no sound... I think they might have a reason to be upset.

Of course... the power outage is one of Californias present adventures.

LOL! I agree Tectalker2K. I guess you really can't have a REAL California Adventure without a few blackouts

I gotta agree with the majority on this one. Personally I don't care for parades at all. I love the fact that alot of people go to see them and that means shorter lines for me when they're on. I did go see DEP on the 3rd just to see it since it has such a strong following, but I doubt I'll see it again and I'm sure there are others who feel the same way.

Operational wise, you have hardly any attractions opened due to the power situation. The floats are charged from 12am to 8am daily so the floats were fully charged. What better way to keep guests busy while they scramble to get the power back on or try to keep the lines down for return passes or refungs then to keep the parade going.

DCA and DL are "magic" that run on electricity. It wasn't a pleasant situation but I thought the CMs did a wonderful job, and management made wise decisions about free food, free DCA passes, and not just closing down the park. It was interesting just to see how things were handled, and I thank every CM that did their best to make the guests comfortable. I imagin that the DCA managers learned some important things, and that is good because this transformer event wasn't some freak of nature, it could happen again. DLR will get a letter of thanks from me!
As long as there is a parking place, we are THERE!

We were there on Friday 7/6 from 2:00-10:00pm and didn't see any electrical problems. But there sure were a lot of people. We stayed for the Electrical Parade and it was packed!!!!!

Two weeks before we were involved in one of the electrical downs though. We were caught on he top of The sunwheel for 10 minutes until they got the back up generators going. We saw them off load people from GRR and Screemin. If I had paid full price I would have asked for my money back too. The CMs handled it with poise and most of the visitors went on to enjoy something else until the problems were solved.

Well, we had another power blip yesterday. Luckily this one was only for a few seconds involving a complete blackout in one of our Soarin' theaters. Guests were very good natured though as I explained to them that they were experiencing one of California's newest adventures, the 'Rolling Blackout Ride'.
