Its a much closer analogy than the absurd comparison you keep trying to draw between RnRC and things like Pooh and SSl.Originally Posted by WrongWay

Some people would rather have a new unique attraction instead of a clone. No matter how much you condescend to people, that is the opinion some folks hold.
"So, if they only have $50,000,000 - $75,000,0000, I want RnRC WWWWAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY more than another SSL lame-arse "new" piece of crud."
Where are you getting the idea that the choice would be between RnRC or another SSL type attraction?
Oh yeah, you are making it up to support your argument, like you usually do.

I'm getting it from recent history of the DLR.

Given the cloice of generic or unique Disney, I'll take unique Disney.... Looking at the unique, odds of a hit aren't that good. In fact, the one hit, Soarin', has serious repeatability issues becuase it is movie based.
As I said, I just don't see DisCo dropping $150,000,000-$200,000,000 on a totally original ride with the deep, rich quality of Indianna Jones or Pirates. With the bubget likely to be given to DLR, I'd take RnRC clone over something "unique" that could be designed and built for $50,000,000-$75,000,000.

Re: Rockin Roller Coaster in DCA?
Ah, ok, so to sum up, you are making up this notion that it is a choice between RnRC or a SSL type attraction.
Thanks for clearing that up.

Re: Rockin Roller Coaster in DCA?
Right. I'm making up the hypothetical situation that DLR isn't going to get $150,000,000+ to build the ride I want (totally original, custom, unique, emersive, high quality, with story and themeing). Knowing they can build unique (the quality of Pooh/Rocket Rods/Soarin') or generic (like Screamin'/GRR) for $50,000,000-$75,000,000 or RnRC for $50,000,000-$75,000,000, I'll take RnRC.

Re: Rockin Roller Coaster in DCA?
So why insist on arguing with those who said they would prefer a unique attraction to RnRC in the first place? Since you agree in principle, and you can't see the future to know how much they will spend on future rides or what other ways there may be to save money rather than clones from WDW, why the insistence that this is SSL vs RnRC?
