    Tunnels Under Disneyland

My friend's dad's employee's friend haha, is one of the voices at Disneyland. Anyway, he hooked my friend up with a cool book (I haven't seen it, so can't tell you the name) that tells a lot of interesting facts about Disneyland, like the hidden Mickey's, and the gold coin sized dot in the castle that marks the middle of Disneyland. Also, he was telling me about tunnels under Disneyland that lead to every ride and stuff. Even my dad knew about this, but have there ever been any pictures of the tunnels. Does anyone know much about them? Its interesting to me, so I'd like to know. And any other cool fact about Disneyland that mabye the average person wouldn't know you can comment on and fill me in about...thanks.

There are no tunnels. Except for a corridor under Tomorrowland that services Club Buzz. Of course many buildings have basements.

I believe that that is a golden spike that marked the geographic center of Disneyland until Toontown was created, it's right under the archway in the castle on the Fantasyland side.

We once heard from a blowhard that there was a tunnel under the Rivers Of America to the island. I responded with, then why do the cm's cross over on rafts for Fantazmic? That took the wind out of his sail, you would have loved it.

it was a golden spike, but obviously they cut if off. the dot is in the castle, and marks the dead center of disneyland (at least in terms of the RR track perimeter, before the Indy show building and Toontown were added).

many of the buildings have basements with offices and storage areas, and a few of these basements connect, but there are no park-wide tunnels. however, after building disneyland, they did realize how nice it would be to have park-wide tunnels, so when they got a second chance to build it (magic kingdom in WDW) they built a park-wide system of tunnels at the ground level, covered it, then built the park on top of it (hence the references to MK's entrance being at the 2nd story).

If you look for "Utilidor Map" on Google, you will find one... :-) Should be the first hit.

That spike is not the dead center of the park. Never was. It's just a surveyors mark.
