I think its a good park growing with attractions, but its not the best and has flaws in my mind. On one end of the arguement you could say "ohh its really nice its got fliks fun fair themed about the movie and a great show and hpb with animation, alading, millionare, muppets, tot, and then theres sourin and ca screamin... " but you could also say that the parks layed out wierd, its landscapings not so great, it looks cheap, or whatever.. So I dont know. if i were an imagineer designing that park it would look different.

Re: What is DCA's Theme? (Take 2)
not to mention the hollywood pictures tie in of Rod stearling and the twilight zone... its all based on california...
Wine Country then is no more california than hollywood, if anything its less... Hollywood is what people think of when you ask them about California... at least those from outside the state or outside the USA...
wine country could just as well be Oregon, Washington, France, Chile, Spain or any other moderate climate where grapes and wine are grown... but DCA is based on CA wine country....
its all microcosms of California... Ca is many things to many people...
the tie in for TOT is Movies which brings you back to Hollywood which is the center of the Movie Universe which is California...
The start Of motion pictures could not have started any where else but southern California... due to the climate most notable the Dry weather and the Fog (before stage lights) Santa barbara was a big leader in film before the invention of modern sound stages and lighting techniques...
but its all california...DCA 1/2 the park, Same low price....

I voted this one:
"An amusement park with the only connection to Califonia being its own title and the names of its attractions."
After all, that's really what it is. Er, that's how I see it."You believe that bullplop he just told you?!" "Well, yeah." "Aye aye aye, you must be-" "Nuts, I know. Ooh, a cliff! AYEEEEeeee!!!"

I think it's hard to understand why DCA turned out as it did.

Re: What is DCA's Theme? (Take 2)
its not in "search" of a theme,it has a theme.Just because you dont care for the theme choosen, doesnt mean it doenst exsist. The theme is "California".the rides are based on things that pertain to California.

yes some areas stray a bit from that theme, but so what,is Disneyland "by the book" with thier themeing? not by a long shotLast edited by Nemo88; 02-18-2004 at 07:53 PM.

Re: What is DCA's Theme? (Take 2)
Hollywood is in California and is a part of California. I really don't see why this is difficult to understand. Nobody said Hollywood was California.Last time I looked, California was not interchangeable with Hollywood.
Gee, with so many people explaining it to you, one would think you'd be able to figure it out by now. The theme is California. That's not exactly a tough idea.THAT'S WHAT I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT?!?!?
And here's the telltale sign of someone getting upset over losing an argument...Of course not. Apparrently nobody makes sense but you Jonvn, and those that agree with you.You may contact me via jonvn@nadelberg.com.

The Wine Country is an extremely important part of California. We produce some of the world's best wines. It's quite important.

Re: What is DCA's Theme? (Take 2)
There are actually two of those signs over both tunnels, but don't start arguing with people here about those signs. I already tried. When you enter disneyland, a sign on the railroad bridge says "here you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tommorow and fantasy. Isnt dca bout the present except for tower's midway?

Re: What is DCA's Theme? (Take 2)
I'm really trying to be patient...
California is not a theme. California is a state. If you are going to tell me that DCA is suppose to be California, then you are wrong - California has about 35M people in it and spans over 155,000 square miles.
Also, by saying California is the theme, then you are saying everything inside of it is California. Hollywood is not California, it is a part of California. Therefore, if you're going to say anything, it would be to say that the theme is "Parts of California."
What's funny is that here you guys are trying to make up your own theme, but you voted for the themes I provided and not "Other". Are you guys just trying to start an argument?Refurb Mike
