Unique, imaginative, exotic..... People don't go to Rainforest Cafe for the food. People don't go to DL to riade "coasters", "flumes", and "flat rides". They pay TOP price, for the themed experience.

And thats why I and many others are willing to spend the normal 47 dollars to enter Disneyland and DCA.

Paradise Pier is superficially like that. Only it is a themed area. Nothing in SFMM approaches that, even in intent.
Magic Mountain's themeing sucks.....a Panda Express in a latin themed environment, and Superman in a Chinatown?! Someone needs to do some History homework.

SFMM hasn't been a theme park for 10 years. Now, it's a coaster park.

SFMM never really was something you could call a theme park. They may have made faint stabs at it, but it's really not and never was. Just a mess of things.

Disneyland is going that way, too. It still produces very ornate stuff, but the theming in the park is really much weaker than it used to be.

Can I request that we get back to the topic? To appease everyone, I'll change the topic to "What was the intended implementation of DCA?" That is, when you walk through the Park, what experience are they trying to provide you? Use the same answers as above.

    Like I said, I don't want this to be a DCA-bashing thread.

are you referring to the "cartoon"ization of the lands? ie: Buzz in TL,Pooh in Critter Country etc??

Yeah, that is it. But even worse, is putting Pooh in the frontier. I mean, it just does not belong. Kind of weakens the premise of the area.

I think it would fit in better in Fantasyland, where all the othe rides of that nature are.
