Light Magic

What exactly was Light Magic? i understand it was a parade/show to take the place of the Main Street Electrical Parade after it left. From what i saw from the commerical, it was some floats with lights on them and characters running around. Light Magic did not stay long enough so i could experience it. how long did this show last? why was it canceled? thanks in advance for your comments

Never had a chance to experience it either... that was the grey period in my Disneyland life... after 1995 for the MSEP Farewell Season I didn't return to Disneyland until 1999 and it's then that I became a dlfreak

Light Magic sure looked interesting, I listened to the sound track one time sounded neat ::shrugs::

In short - it essentially crashed and burned, did horribly with guests and particularly had a bad Annual Passholder preview and there's always jokes being made about a flaming Tinkerbell so perhaps it crashed and burned literally.

But it was an entertaining story.

I remember loving it when I saw it live. But my friend showed me a video of it a few months ago and it was terrible.

I don't understand what was so bad about this parade. Everyone seems to hate it. I liked it, especially the music, and it's much better than Disneyland's current parade, although not as good as the original Electrical Parade.

Never saw DL Light Magic
Went to WDW a couple years ago I liked that version of it. But the Parade that I am missing is the Lion King Celebration THAT was a GREAT Parade/ Show I loved it. I was hopeing it would make its return with the Lion King DVD. but It didnt (Tear)

Light Magic was never done at WDW. What you're thinking of, is probably SpectroMagic, which is a totally different parade. The Lion King Celebration was a great parade, and can still be seen (kind of) at Animal Kingdom, in the form of "The Festival Of The Lion King" which uses many of the original parade units.

OH OH OH!!!!! I just looked at the pictures and realized I did see this parade! I was only about 8 and I remember being excited about it after all of the cool comercials I saw of it, so we watched it and I thought it was alright..... I was expecting more! BUT I did love that confettie!!!

NOW the Lion King Parade i freaking loved!
