Not really. Mad Mouse? Yes, very dull. But Screamin' is (I'm sure) the nations longest steel coaster, and I am a coaster person, and I love it, even if it was at Six Flags.
Longest = not dull? I don't think so. Screamin' is very..... long. With lots of places with no Gs. And the places with Gs are...weak Gs. Lots of straight. Lots of slow turns. It is a great coaster of non-coaster-people. For coaster-people.... engh. It's just okay. Smooth, fast, but kind of dull.

At least I'm consistent. He wasn't biased when he was talking about how great Disneyland is. He isn't biased when he talks about how plain DCA is.

You thought he was dead on about Disneyland, but biased against DCA? Come on. Either he's biased against Disney or not?
the only thing he ever really said about DL was that it looked great after all the painting,I dont think anyone can disagree with that.I think everyone thought he was "dead on" with that.

his DCA review was very different, saying how dull and tame Screamin, then turns around and praises Mummy which seems way slower. He then goes on to critique TOTs "irony" yet praises WDWs TOT even though it also doesnt have "irony" that he claims DCAs is lacking, and then he praises Mummys storyline which is a total mess.Hes gonna nitpick DCAs TOT with this whole "irony" thing, yet all the story holes and issues on the Mummy are fine and dandy?

hes not consistant,he lets things slide for DL,USH and other parks, but comes down harder on DCA.Again, hes biased.

He never said he "hated" it. He said DCA comes up "a step short". That's not hatred, that's being mildly critical.

This is yet another review, in a very long three year string of reviews, that paints DCA as a pleasant and clean, yet uninspiring and slightly underwhelming Disney theme park. It's not hatred, it's mild criticism.

The same author tripped all over himself to heap praise on Disneyland circa 1990, so he obviously isn't a Communist anti-Disney nut. He is a guy who is very passionate about theme parks and has visited just about every theme park in the country, and he has some mild criticism for DCA.

There is no "hate" here.

For coaster-people.... engh.

Not really. As I said before, I love coasters and am a coaster-person, and I love it.

Re: TSI: a day at DCA

Nemo,
It isn't very hard to spot the real bias. Accoridng to you, anyboby that has anything bad to say about DCA is an idiot and anyone that has anything nice to say about USH is a bigger idiot.

I thought this was a very reasonable review. A coaster, lacking theme and big thrills is a bit dull. Boomer is nothin' more than the launch. Soarin' is a great ride system with a uninspiring movie. DCA's ToT is a step below MGMs. GRR lacks the extras that make Splash Mt. more that just a log flume.

I'd think you'd be happy he didn't harp on and on about the Mad Mouse that is 3 levels below SFMM quality or the wave swing or mundane themes.

Re: TSI: a day at DCA

For Me GRR is the best raft ride i've ever been on...however, if they had done a country bears overlay it would have been splash mt. quality

all things seem reasonable when you agree with them, but whatever.I guess we got to agree to disagree.

Re: TSI: a day at DCA

I dunno he seemd to say alot of stuff that I've heard people say before

most people have tended to say that Screamin was a good coaster especialy a disney one as far as typical coasters go, most people say that it isn't as thrilling as a six flags coaster and most people complain about the noise walls on the sides

he seemed to also point out that Screamin seemed rather plain since he'd been riding coasters with alot faster launches and other such things for days before this (I wouldn't know though I'm not a big coaster person with my fear of hights and all)

I've heard people either amazed with Sorin or mildly impressed and he was on the mildly impressed side

he didn't seem to say that Grizzly was bad he seemd to just say that he had expected more from Disney and I kinda agree I've seen other raft rides that are more themed then DCA's, but maybe there's not as much to do with raft rides?

anywho what I meant with the ToT compared to Mummy thing is that while I have heard that the Mummy's plot is mangled and the coaster part was mild (I don't remeber him saying the coaster parts were praticularly thrilling but ok)

I think the Mummy shows more darkride elements and robotics that appear in front of you that it can seem better story wise (from what I've heard the florida one is amazing with lotsa effects)

I downloaded a movie of DCA's tower of terror and alot of people have said this and the video seems to show it but the story elements and show scenes are brief and almost seem to be raced through and then your going up and down up and down. It's a great ride but it's no indy or anything

my personal feelings on ToT are that it's not something I'd travel for (especialy with my fear of heights) but it's something to deffinatly see if I'm in the park and it adds to the days list of stuff to do (Sorin is a draw I think but as it gets older as a movie attraction it's going to age a little bit faster then ToT)

I really think DCA needs a really fresh attraction now to make it great
