I'm sure there are other ways to bring back the PeopleMover and enhance the experience.
what I meant was the track that goes through Space Mountain? I mean they've demolished practicaly the entire inside of that building haven't they?

anywho I think that the roof would help for shade a bit and reliability for those 12 hours and I think it would look a little old fashioned to have the old roof thing on em like they used to so a built over roof would provide shade (I doubt Disney would make a fully enclosed car with air conditioning as brought up in other threads about this though it'd be nice )

as for special effects I wouldn't mind an effect of Space Mountain Car's going by you as you go through the attraction and then maybe in the part over Buzz do another Tron Tunnel like effect with Buzz flying all around you fighting Zurg, oh and maybe put an upgraded storm trouper AA over Star Tours it could aim it's gun at you menecingly then go "oh your not the droids I'm looking for"

of course all of that would make Peoplemover both a tour and a clever advertisment for every ride it went through which would be work great for what it is anyways

I doubt we'll be seeing a Tron Tunnel again. Still, neat effect though.. I recall the light cycle used to have a fan on it.. and when it buzzed around infront of you, you were hit with air from a fan someplace... unless I'm terribly off anyway. I think if there was to be a newer Peoplemover they should use roughly the same technology as the rods and use to rod system.. I mean, all they gotta do is design a new fleet of sorts, re-program this and that and its good to go.

Why cant they just turn it into like how WDW has the TRANSIT AUTHORITY?

    Re: Tron Tunnel?

Why not tear that piece of crap down? It looks horrible, and it always has. It looks like they said, "We have Tomorrowland built, now let's have slap in a track that will zig-zag all through it." The concept art of Tomorrowland '67 looked good. The Peoplemover ran neatly along the sides of the buildings at the enterance. What they actually built was ugly. The thing is going up and down, around the Monorail beam and awkwardly built buildings. There is just no logical order. It's really obvious that they just slapped the thing in wherever it would go.

Walt's touch my arse. He backed out of the original plans of Tomorrowland '67 that included the Spaceport attraction, a second level, and a nice Peoplemover, and "built it on the cheap." The closed Flying Saucers attraction remained empty, and he just used a cheap fix by simply bringing his Carousel show from the World's Fair. This is why Walt should have been fired.

I'm sorry. I was just using a little Roy logic. Anyway, yeah, I think it's ugly. Unless they redo it so it's like MK's, where it neatly goes around an orderly Tomorrowland, I say tear it down. It's an ugly eyesore, even if there is a ride on it. The only exception would be the Rocket Rods, because those are better because of the random curves and the hills. Otherwise, get rid of it. That will require a new TL redo again, though, because the Astro Orbitor and Observatron would have no purpose.

I predict that in 5 years or so, they'll tear down the track, including Rocket Tower, and move the Astro Orbitor (On the ground) to the former spot of the Observatron. Something has to be done soon, and I don't believe the Peoplemover will come back. It's just not futuristic.

I made a sketch a few weeks ago on how the PeopleMover could run on the RR system. When I find it, I'll scan it and post it here.

I kind of like the idea of enclosing the tracks. But i would built a circular tuibe like enclosure on it and use special lighting that would make the vehicles look like they are speeding tthrough the track. It would look somewhat futuristic. Then the idea of adding spcieal effects and some audioanimatronics inside the diferent show buildings to coincide with the attractions inside would be cool. If they did open the subs again it would be cool if they added a large ocean themed facade similar to the mermaid lagoon in Tokyo. Then the track would go inside the corral and have a wet/dry effect of going through an underwater ocean tunnel.

    Re: Tron Tunnel?

A caster or something - the wheel on the track that drives the
cars- broke and derailed the PeopleMover in the CircleVision tunnel near
the end closest to the Hub. Then it hit the wall (with people in it)
Sensors never caught it so a bunch of others cars hit it.
It's wierd that you say that. I actually saw this accident happen. My sister and I talk about with people all the time. We were sitting behind the matterhorn, behind the circlevision theater at the tables waiting for our parents to get our burgers from the food place there. We heard a loud crash and looked up to see the PM crashed into the wall. So it actually happened ENTERING the Circle Vision Theater. But what was really amazing is that 2 or 3 sets of cars came smashing into that one that derailed. The just kept coming. It actually derailed to the right and we were afraid that the cars hitting behind it would push it off the track to the ground below.

Anyway now for a question about the TSST. Was it actually faster in there or was it illusion. I don't remember too much from this ride. It's been a long time.

I think the wording was something like "Warning, you have invaded the rhelm of the master computer program. Prepare for the game grid of Tron." I always enjoyed the PM because it gave you some nice views of Tomorrowland and allowed you to prop your feet up and relax for 15 minutes. It was just a neat experience to travel through the various show buildings and then outside above Autopia and the Sub lagoon.

It was slower, and they put fans in there to blow on you to make it seem fast.
