How do they do the portable hole illusion at the very end of RRCTS? That's really neat, and so can anyone tell me how it works? Thanks!

Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin Portable Hole Illusion
In the criminal justice system, sexually-based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories. *DOINK DOINK*

Re: Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin Portable Hole Illusion
While I have no idea how it works myself (I get that it uses a mirror), this may help (look on the left area of the 'hole'

Since I've barely been on the ride and my last time was years ago, can someone please describe the effect for me (do you see a black circle, then he puts it on the wall then suddenly you go through the black center?)

Wow, this is crazy. I was going to post a thread on this tonight asking the same question.
This is one of the few effects that I never figured out, along with the hitchhiking ghosts on HM.City Hall Complaint Count: 201

Disneyman, if you are talking about the ones that you see in the mirror at the end, It is a one way mirror, that is illuminated from the back. Each puppet or whatever runs simotaneously with the doom buggies. So you see yourself in the mirror, and then the Ghost that is behind the mirror but with a light.
That Roger looks really dusty and dirty in the pic.

are you serious Disneyman or is this one of your jokes that I don't get

the wall comes out in the back so that the mirror reflects wall in the front of similar distance so it looks like the hole is hovering or whatever
it's a neat effect but I dunno it's gotta be the first effect I've ever reallized how it worked before (blatantly that is, I'd always had a vague idea about how those mansion highhickers worked) I basicaly had to be told how the ballroom worked but even then didn't catch onto the trick untill I road it twice in one day (that day happend to be when those exit signs were installed, I can see what you mean about effect ruining though the sign only shows up if you try to look around sideways a bit more if you stay focased on what's in front of you you won't see it)

Re: Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin Portable Hole Illusion
Its really cool how they do the boulder room on indy too.... another cool disney effect......
......when u back up.... you ..... never really back up..... and the boulder never moves either.... the secret is that the whole entire room moves forward as the jeep makes bumping movements to simulate it moving backwards. (it would devistate the ride if the car really moves bak) and them u just go under a vertically spinning sphere.Would thou care for some Rofl Waffles?
