DLR Questions/Answers on things you always wondered

I wanted to start a thread that addressed the more obscure bits of DLR trivia. These questions could cover anything from urban legends, attraction details that seem odd to you, bits of resort history, to operational matters that you always wondered about but never thought to ask.

If you have a question post it. I am sure someone will know the answer between all of us Disney nuts.

    MY QUESTION
Okay so last night I rode Pinochio's Daring Journey. At the end of the ride our favorite wooden puppet is safely back home with Gipetto but he's still a puppet. Has anyone else noticed this? What makes the scene even more confusing is that the Blue Fairy makes an appearance pushing the idea further that Woodenhead should have turned into a real boy. Why is this?

I think for the same reason that he looks more like a puppet than a real boy in his greetting costume... so that people recognize him.

    Yes. People are THAT stupid...

Either that (to avoid confusion) or its cheaper to copy the same Pinocchio that they use in other parts of the ride rather than create an original mold of Pinocchio as a boy that they'll only use in that finale scene.

I'm addicted to Disneyland. Disneyland hobbies are expensive. If I become a bum people are going to say "Don't give him money, he's just gonna use it on Disneyland."

    My question:

What is the significance of the bricked-up archway in New Orleans Square with "1764" engraved in the keystone? Is it a crypt with a date of death? If so, whose is it? Or is it something else?
