While in the queve for HMH I was hearing PM music! I was so happy.. just hearin the little chimes made me feel like I was in tre's belle Paris. I noticed this back in early December.. But havent gotten a chance to write bout it. I really wish more of the great soundtrack music form Paris would find its way into some pieces of Dl's rides... THere standard of music definatly beats that of Dl's (No offense to anyone)

I noticed that music also. Never been to DL Paris, but I think that music is only used in the queue area during HMH, which would have been going on in December.

Re: Phantom manor in Disneyland?
They also play PM music in the fastpass area year-round, even though it is closed now. But I do remember hearing PM music in the HMH queue.

Re: Phantom manor in Disneyland?
my preferance is to GGG more then the PM soundtrack (maybe that would change if I went on the actual ride but listening too it)

They have been playing the chimes in the HMH since it opened back in 01. Its more difficult now to hear them because of the scarols.

Re: Phantom manor in Disneyland?
From what I've heard, Phantom Manor seems to be more haunting than Haunted Mansion, in that it actually has a story to it and the music far better than ours. I really liked hearing the chimes in the que and wish they would play that music in the que for the regular Haunted Mansion.

Re: Phantom manor in Disneyland?
Phantom Manor does have a more cohesive story line however I didn't find it to be more "haunting", even though the audio was in French (which I didn't understand), the stroyline was still very clear. PM had the feel of only a couple of ghosts while HM is under the premise that there are 999. I like some aspects of PM but I still like the HM at DLR better. I wouldn't mind having some of the music of PM piped in while waiting in line as long as they don't start changing ride elements around.

The chimes are similar, but they are not the same. I've listened to audio files of both, back to back. DL's is more upbeat.

Re: Phantom manor in Disneyland?
from what I've heard the Phantom Manor's music is more cenimatic or theatrical or something like that and they basicaly drop the concept that all music must have some sort of a source (weather that's good or bad who knows?)

Re: Phantom manor in Disneyland?
Phantom Manor is a great alternative to ours. I like both for what they offer. DLP's HM is set in Frontierland and it has a wild west theme which makes it very different. The story is easy to follow and not more haunted but more gorey. Which is appropriate in a European setting.. You should see some of the other attractions throughout Europe! Dark rides with heads on spikes, dismemered corpses, and authentic urine smell, on purpose. So DLP's HM is very tame. But I like the fact that the bride appears in various states of decay and the guy who tips his hat with his head in at at the end is played up with humor.
