The Tomorrowland "Revitalization" Plan - Another "Ask Marcie" Spin Off Thread

Re: The Tomorrowland "Revitalization" Plan - Another "Ask Marcie" Tread Spin-off
I'll have to wait and see what attractions are added as part of this plan.
All in all, something that is desperately needed to restore east/west balance and restore the capacity of the park. Doesn't do much good having a Tomorrowland that no one is visiting except to stand in line for Autopia.
Space Mt and Buzz will be great. More would be even greater!

Let's see. In the next year, Buzz and Space Mountain.
In two years, perhaps Submarines return in 2007.
In three, four, or five years? That's the mystery. Thoughts?
People Mover. Either put something there or demolish the tracks.
Star Tours. New film replacement or continued deterioration.
Starcade. Lame arcade. 2nd floor has nothing there.
Innoventions. More of the same?
HISTA. Enough of the 3-D movies. Turn it into the interactive computer character show.
Tomorrowland has real problems.

However, I think TL is inthe right direction. Space MT. is a ride that won't have to be swapped out 10yrs from now. Buzz it might be too early to tell how well it'll last, but I would surmize that b/c of the popularity in WDW and in TRL it'll age rather well. TL is putting in attractions that won't grow old.

Re: The Tomorrowland "Revitalization" Plan - Another "Ask Ma
Space and Buzz will be great, really looking forward to them, but TL needs SO much more! For me, the only good thing to come out of the '98 re-do was the entrance with the rocks. This made it look like you were entering an alien environment. I'm in the minority, but I also love the Astro Orbiter, it's beautiful at night, and gives TL kinetic energy it needs, and should have. BUT, after that cool entrance, they dropped the ball. The rock formations should have been continued throughout the land, to reinforce the other-worldly feel. I'm not a fan of the paver tiles in TL, instead it should have been a more "organic" feeling surface, maybe with little alien footprints & moon rover tracks, kind of like how you see horseshoes & wagon tracks in Frontierland. Space Mountain should have been made to look like it was made of the same rock, to tie it better into the landscape. Autopia should be planetary explorer vehicles, going across and alien landscape, also tied into the rock formations. Little aliens could pop out of craters along the way...that would make it more "tomorrow". As it stands now, to me, Autopia has nothing to do with Tomorrowland. Innoventions & HISTA need to be replaced, don't have any ideas on those right now. I like the Nemo sub idea, and I think it fits, but maybe the look of the subs could be more fanciful. I'd still love to see a fleet of "Nautilius" gliding around. Combine Captain Nemo & Nemo the fish? Sure why not? Why not even make a joke about it on the ride? Oh, and continue the rock formations around the sub lagoon.
The End....for now

I think that they had a good idea with the 98" version of the land but they cut themselves short and just left it half done. The place needs more neon lighting more of those rocks you mentioned. Make it look like some new colony built on a Mars like planet. they should have even thought about relocating the autopia cars and placed them up on the People movers track. they could have enclosed the tracks with fiber glass tubes and then have the cars moving around this futuristic city. Then they could have used the large wasted property now used for autopia for a grand scale "e" ticket attraction. A new cavernous midsize mountain similiar to journey to the center of the earth should have been built and tied to the submarine attraction. This same mountain could have a double facade. the side facing Tomorrowland would be made to look like something found in another planet and the side facing Fantasyland could have been made to look like the little mermaid land in tokyo disney sea. By doing this they could have re-used the motorboat path and added some indoor scenery and they would have an outdoor indoor little mermaid dark ride. As for the monorial beam. they could have just designed the mountain so that it had some tunnels to let the monorail ride through it with one sided glass so you could see inside the mountain but the people in the other attraction could not see the monorial. Or just get rid of some of the extra loops it does over that area.

Actually, I wouldn't mind saying good-bye to Innoventions, The Subs & Autopia for a "Mysterious Island" ala TDS. It could house 2 new attractions, the Nautilus lagoon, and maybe a new upscale restraunt. As for the monorail, it could enter the park down by Small World, go around the Matterhorn as usual, then exit the park as usual. I'd cut out all the loops inbetween.
