Where can I find out about getting a job there? I'm now 17 and I know that's the age or close to the age when you can be a character.. Just wondering where I can find info. I'd even do tickets or something, anything to get a job there.

For hourly positions, which is what you would qualify for, the number to call is (800) 766-0888. They can help you with getting an application and setting up an interview.
Do note that you have to be eighteen (or seventeen and a high school senior) to apply.

Re: Jobs at Disneyland..
On a similar topic, Disney's college program came to my school (UC Davis) last week. I wanted to apply for an advanced internship in the character marketing in product promotions. I was excited about Disney coming, but in the end it was a flop. Basically, to even qualify for an advanced internship you have to go through the basic college program internship. Let me tell you, its not much of an internship. Basically you go to WDW or DL and you go to 1 class per week that is 3-4 hours long and the rest of the time you're workin full time basically in a high school type position in the park (running rides, selling food, etc) for 6.25 an hour. Its not so much an internship as they call it, but rather just a summer job at minimum wage. And even completing this basic program doesn't guarantee you to get an advanced internship. So basically, to finish my rant and rave, the disney college program is no more than just a cheap ploy to get summer workers for the theme parks. I guess they figure they can fool the abundance of college kids that have never had to work before, and make them think this is something special. Working 4 years at costco, while going to school, I see through this and know how pointless working as a minimum wage CM would be especially if you're in upper division standing.

EagleWings, if that's a picture of you in your avatar, the first thing you'll need to do to get a job at Disneyland is get a haircut. Seriously.

Re: Jobs at Disneyland..
My neighbor and good friend is in management at Disneyland, and she's been there for over 15 years with several nice promotions along the way. From speaking with her, it's my understanding that Disneyland hires almost all of it's management from within now, after a disastrous experiment with trying to hire in middle managers from outside Disney in the mid to late 1990's.

Just some stuff I've learned from speaking with my friend.

eaglewings, if that's you in your avatar, be ready to say goodbye to that hair of yours if you really want to work at DLR. infact, i just got back from my hair dresser. just following that DISNEY LOOK.
be warned however, working at disneyland makes you see the resort in a completely different light. you begin to admire certain things a little more. like DCA for example. i didn't like DCA very much when it opened. but when i hired in i began to realize the relaxed charm of the little park next door.
but you also begin to notice things that will irk you. like the horrible way guests treat our park. granted we have alot of custodial staff to pick up the accidents and things like confetti. it drives me crazy, even when visiting, to see so much litter on the ground; especially in the queues where our castmembers can't get to it. oh yah and the arrogance of certain APs really gets to me too sometimes. just because people have spent nearly 300 dollars and regularly come to our park doesn't give them the right to treat us CMs to harshly, things like heckling our spiels(especially on the jungle cruise), or just taking advantage of us CMs, or even just being unaware that the guest you are standing behind in line might be on his or her once-in-a-lifetime trip to Disneyland. trust me, if you really mess with a CM we WILL remember you and talk about you in our break rooms. i know that this is not everyone-when i was an AP i was soo respectful to the parks- but in my experience as a CM i notice just so many APs getting too crazy for their own good.
sorry it kind of turned into a rant, but yah keep some of those things in mind.
and Jdizzle- quite the expose'. i wouldn't work at the resort or 6.25/hour, not for all the pixie dust in neverland! and none of our starting rates go that low if you just hire as a regular applicant. as a college tip, avoid low internships that put you in starting level positions like clerical work. anybody can get a job doing that kind of grunt work especially if you're just seeking exposure, and you get paid alot more.Last edited by Crunchy Toast; 03-16-2005 at 05:36 PM. Re: Jobs at Disneyland..
I just interviewed friday and landed a job. All you do is go to the Team Disney building on ball road. The cast information line should have directions to that. but you can see it from the freeway. you then park in visitor parking and go to the building. I filled out a application and signed a lot of paparwork. I interviewed an hour later and got hired. The whole process was very easy. I just walked in with a smile and no appointment. I was wearing a nice tshirt and a tie. Some people were wearing street clothes which was pretty tacky. (they didnt look to happy coming back from their interviews.)
CHaracter stuff is different cause you have to try out.
When you go in there set the bar high, Ask for attractions you have nothign to lose. Dont plan on having a summer vacation

Re: Jobs at Disneyland..
As for the Disney World College Program, I just went to the presentation today.
If you look and listen closely, they tell you exactly up front what your pay will be, and what your role my be. So anybody expecting it to be much more than working a menial job, yet in a really awesome environment, with minimum wage pay, shouldn't be shocked when it doesn't turn out to be what they wanted it to be. It was all stated clear right up front.
