Friends:
This is a question to anyone who's taken an infant to Disneyland. We'll be visiting with our four-year-old and our six-month-old. Are there any rides where they allow a parent to hold an infant in their lap, or in a front child carrier? I'm thinking mainly of gentle boat-based rides like "It's a Small World."
Also, are there areas for parking strollers near most rides, or should we plan to leave it in one central location while we hit all of the rides within a certain "Land"?
Thanks for your help!

Re: Any rides allow very small children?
Plenty of stroller parking is everywhere.
Storybook boat ride would be perfect for an infant. It's in fantasyland by Teacups. Small World might be too loud, but not sure. I think my son didn't go to Disney till he was about 2.There are thousands of caves in America. Many of them unexplored - even today. Here is a labyrinth of secret tunnels...colorful strata and curious fossils...A hiding place for buried treasure...stalagmites form fantastic shapes...and eerie sounds sometimes echo through the silent rooms.

You can take infants on rides that don't have lap belts and hight requirements. Pirates is a good one, they usually sleep right through it!!!
I love Disneyland!!!!

Re: Any rides allow very small children?
I just took my son when he was 6 months old. We went on nearly everything that didn't have the word Mountian in it! (Except Indy, of course.)
He absolutely LOVED small world. He really enjoyed Winnie the Pooh as well. He sat on my wife's lap for Dumbo, fell asleep on Pirates. Seemed OK with Haunted Mansion, was vaguely entertained by Jungle Cruise, and seemed to get a kick out of most of the Fantasyland rides.
it's a small world was the main one for him though. He just stared and laughed the whole time."...Then it all came rushing back to me like the hot kiss at the end of a wet fist!" Nick Danger, from The Further Adventures of Nick Danger.

Re: Any rides allow very small children?
We went last year with our one-year old and there were plenty of rides that he went on and enjoyed. Most everything in Fantasyland is suitable for kids, but beware of Snow White and a few other ones because they could possibly scare them. Storybook Land boats are great and It's a Small World wasn't too loud at all for him.
As far as some of the other lands were concerned, Pirates can be a little frightening after the first and second drops, but it's usually okay after that. Mine ended up going to sleep during the ride anyway. The Haunted Mansion isn't too bad, but my little guy got scared in the elevator when everybody screamed. Umm...what else? Jungle Cruise was a great one for him and he really liked the Winnie the Pooh ride (this one is great for really young kids because it's not very popular at the park AT ALL, which means no lines to deal with, thus less fuss). And, of course, you can't forget the classic Monorail!
If you're heading over to California Adventure the little ones might actually like Flik's Land. There's not much there for adults to do but a lot of kids of young age love it! All the rides aren't too scary or frightening (but they did build a ride there with a height restriction, which is something I'll never understand). "It's Tough to Be a Bug", the 3-D movie located there, is definitely NOT suitable for really young kids. I know of a few adults that freak out in that place because it can get a little loud and be quite frightening with the large bugs.
Stroller parking, as mentioned earlier, is EVERYWHERE! If you end up bringing your own collapsible stoller instead of renting one there you can take it on the trains and the monorail (the rented ones aren't collapsible and therefore too large to take aboard), making transportion from one area of the park to the other really easy. That is, of course, if the trains are running by the time you go.
Anyway, that's just some of the things I know of that might be great for you to try. Some people here may or may not agree with me on some of the things and that's fine. Just use your judgment and you should be okay. After all, you know better than anyone what your kids may or may not be able to handle. I hope this helps somewhat and have great times at the parks!"I love those moments. I like to wave
at them as they pass by." - Captain Jack S parrow

Took my daughter when she was 4 months. Start them out young... thats what I say. Anyways we went on Pirates, Haunted, Jungle, Alice without any problems. Probably could have gone on more but we only spent a half day at the park... and it was summer time.
"... so hurry back we would like you company!"

Re: Any rides allow very small children?
We took my son when he was seven months old a couple years ago. The biggest problem we found was he didn't care for the lines and got cranky. We took him on a ton of rides though, all of them have been mentioned previously. He fell asleep in Its a Small World, so it definately isn't too loud. He was honestly happiest just wondering around the park and taking it all in, he was kinda "meh" on a lot of the rides.
Just take it slow and be really flexible about what you want to accomplish in the park
