Probably just because the parade route (sorry, Performance Corridor ) is so much in the open from the entry gates into DCA. At least at Disneyland you have the berm and train tracks right there, so you have to look through the tunnels to get a decent look at the parade. Also they seemed to have had more secrecy with Block Party than Parade of Dreams. So maybe they are hoping for a "Wow!" factor once it begins and don't want pics of it all over the internet before then..

Looks like the float designers in the parade department got a budget increase, because those are some really nice floats!

Today Disneyland was filming the commercial for the Parade of Dreams commercial. They got rained out before they could really film anything but they had some of the floats out on main street. They had mentioned that they where going to do some more filming tomorrow if anyone wants to go and see them. Check out these pictures here.

I tried to get a good photo of the storyboards for the commercial. I noticed drawings of the Tower of Terror, 50th written in fireworks above the castle and Stitch in the mix. I also noticed that Simba on the Lion King float is acually a cast member, who they had to take out in the middle of the day because of the heavy rain. HOPE YOU ENJOY THE PICS!

    From MousePlanet:

For the record, these photos were taken from outside the park, and not by a cast member. There was a nice, polite little crowd watching the rehearsal, and the cast members completely ignored us.
Say what? The pictures were taken from outside the Park? Using what? A telescopic lense that also sees around corners? And if they were outside the Park, why would the Cast Members aknowledge them?

Oh. And the floats look nice.

The night photos were taken from the exit gates near the souvenier store at main gates. It's really pretty obvious.
