Because the DVD is about celebrating the history of Disneyland. Are we only allowed to honor Disneyland's past during an anniversary year? All they need is to change the cover and disc art to remove the 50th references.

I also got the email from amazon with the cancellation notice.

So does anyone know-- was this disc already produced? Is the master sitting on a shelf somewhere getting more dated as the days go by? Or did they never produce the final product and it was more of a "we think we'll make a dvd when we get around to it, but let's advertize the crap out of it now and we'll see where the other foot drops later" kind of thing.Sydney Head

There is speculation on another site that Amazon canceled everyone's order because they will release it with a higher price. The timing makes sense, but it's only speculation.

A higher price would suck but I just want to see the thing already

I got my email from Amazon as well

The latest rumor (spec?) is that, not unlike the famous gold Mouse Ears shortage of '05 Disney under-estimated the demand and decided to pull it, add some more material and raise the price.
I thought it was incredible that they were offering the "official" 50th DVDfor $13-I was willing to go $35 if it was any good. I still would IF htey add the news footage from the last year's events AND the Steve Martin film.
I'm sure we'll see it before Christmas of this year.

I hope so but I just don't know anymore .
I think they should give some more info about why they pulled it
or if they are going to release it this year ,next year or if they are going to release it for the 100th ANN.Today's going to be a beautiful, busy day, and "we must keep our aim constantly focused on the future." —Walt Disney
