Is the Mint Julep Bar a place where you can actually get mint juleps (or at least a variation of them)? I've walked by it a few times in NOS over the past few months but I've never seen it open. But it was listed as an eatery on the map. Is it like the frozen yogurt place in Toon Town that's never open, and maybe only seasonal?

I think you can get them in the French Market too.

Yes you can get a non alcholic version of the Mint Julep as well as fritters and a few other snacks. It's been open most of the times I've been, try it in the afternoon.

The Mint Julep Bar has been closed for nearly 4 months now and will most likely not reopen for an uncertain amount of time. However, you can still get Mint Juleps inside the french market at the drink dispenser and also funnel cakes by special order inside. Now as for fritters, you have to get that from the Royal Street Veranda along with any special coffee's!

Yep, just got back and I can confirm the Mint Julep Bar is closed even during peak summer days. The counter behind the window is piled high with stuff, so it doesn't look like it will be used in the near future. You can, however, go into the restaurant and get the same thing (whew). While you are there you can get chocolate cake too!

That is truly sad to me - the Mint Julep bar is a required stop on all of our visits to the park. And the Mint Julep inside the French Market PALES in comparison to the one you get at the bar. The Mint Julep from the bar is garnished with maraschino cherries and most importantly a sprig of fresh mint. If you crush the mint with your finger and stir it into the drink, you have a completely different and wonderful taste. Hopefully the staffing situation in foods will be cleared up and they'll reopen this wonderful little shop soon. I seem to remember that the Blue Bayou serves it in the same style as the bar, but maybe someone who's been there more recently can confirm?

I was looking forward to the bar being open when I was there last month, but it wasnt. I ended up going into the French Market, and it took almost an HOUR to get one Mint Julep. They definately arent the fastest place in the world. Disneyland is pretty effecient with things, you would think they would come up with a way to do food service more effeciently..but anyway...

Yeah, Blue Bayou is the best place (IN my opinoin) for the Mint Julep. Its the same thing everywhere, but the ambiance is much better.-Amanda
