I agree. People are allowed to have negative opinions of DCA (or anything for that matter) as long as:Originally Posted by jonvn

That's all there is to it. Otherwise, people's opinions are their opinions.
A. They state their opinions as opinions, not facts
B. They don't speak for others by saying things like "the public doesn't like DCA or it's CA theme" I don't want others speaking for me.
Why all the negativity toward Disney? I don't really know. I go to the parks to have fun. Not to pick everything apart then post about it on the boards. People are allowed to have opinions and things they do or don't like. Heck, I'm one of the few who didn't like the PeopleMover and hopes it stays dead! But when all people do is complain and be negative it gets really annoying and old and the magic gets lost.

I think those are the most annoying things, when people do those two things.
"I think it's like this, so everyone must think it's like this, and my opinion is therefore fact."
It is ridiculous. Just state how you feel, but don't try to justify that your opinion is RIGHT, especially with no facts, or "facts" that are plainly false. You may contact me via jonvn@nadelberg.com.

07-25-2005 01:34 PM #193To clarify, I was born and raised in San Gabriel Valley. I visited 2-3 times a year at least, from birth until 1989 when the Navy shipped me off to Hawaii. I visited in '93, '95, '01, and then returned to being a regular visitor in 2002 when I moved to AZ.

I remember lots of people being in Tomorrowland, but I also rember most of the attractions sucked. America the Beautiful in Circlevision theater was less interesting than the impossible to beat computer that played tic-tac-toe in the lobby.
Mission to the Moon was a joke of an attraction, but at least it didn't make you motion sick like America the Beautiful.
AtiS was a great place to make out with high school sweatheart, but as a ride it was pretty lame. Oh look, giant styrofoam snowklakes....
I remember Peoplemover pre-Tron tunnel, pre-super speed tunnel. Snooze. Even on the busiest days, half the trains were empty and half the trains held 2 or 4 people.
I remember the original Country Bears show. Way better than the lame CA ho-down overlay. I remember Mine Train through Nature's Wonderland.
TL '67 is exactly what Disney does NOT want to do again. They want to build lands that will last for 50 years, not 10-15.Last edited by Mortimer; 07-25-2005 at 01:42 PM.

The Electric Trunk Lift is a Godsend for my 500T. Makes it easier to complain about all of the damage Phil Pressler did in his heyday.

gee, two or three whole times a year? that's a solid basis with which to make comments regarding park history.
Which is an indication of you not knowing park history very well. There was never an attraction called "Mission to the Moon."Mission to the Moon
In any case, you admit to recalling that the area was very busy. I guess it was so busy because all the attractions stunk so bad. That's why people hung out there. Of course.
Frankly, the memories of a "jr. High school kid" or younger are a lot different than those of an adults, who sees things in quite a different manner.
Yeah, like absolutely none of them have done. So, again, a comment based on false information.TL '67 is exactly what Disney does NOT want to do again. They want to build lands that will last for 50 years, not 10-15.
And considering that TL67 lasted for nearly 30 years, and is basically still there in the layout and shape of the area, I'd say it's lasted for quite a long time.
And, of course, they would never want to put in an area that for many years was a crowded and popular part of the park. Why would they want to recreate success? Success never works.
