We will be closing this thread if the personal jibs and jabs continue. Lets try to keep this thing as civil as possible. I want to give you all the opportunity to participate in this thread in a respectable manner. If not this thread go bye-bye.
Thanks!

07-27-2005 10:30 AM #253Of course people are entitled to negative opinions. I have negative opinions myself. The difference is stating those opinions as fact, and callling anyone who disagrees with you names, or doing some other horrid thing like stalking you and showing up at your home to "talk" to you about it.Why aren't these people entitled to a negative opinion?
Or, leaping into another conversation about something entirely different and start talking about how DCA was a flop or whatever the insult of the day happens to be.
I don't care if people like DCA or not. I do care when they act like mean spirited people who won't let others enjoy the place, or act in a vicious manner to them when they state they do like it. Or the most annoying, jumping into other conversations completely unrelated to state how western civilization is doomed because of PRESSLER! and DCA.
So I sometimes say something about it.
Me too. Some parts are really well done, some parts need work. It's not the hellhole that some people really seem to need to make it.I enjoy DCA, I also don't enjoy some parts of it.
There is nothing in this world that is perfect, there's going to be good and bad in everything and everyone. That's how life is. Nothing is purely black and white.
The thing you have to engage in is reasonable discourse, or you get others offended. Am I perfect in this? Of course not. Like everything else, nothing is black and white.
On the other hand, if you go out of your way to be hostile and offensive about something, it's going to affect those you are hostile and offensive to. There is no sense in being surprised when that happens.Last edited by Mortimer; 07-27-2005 at 10:40 AM.

Absolutely. Agreed. But now we're finally putting some serious thought into what we do and do not like, and coming to a middle ground.

How do you know how many times I visit a year?
Because he knows you. He knows where you live. He's watching you right now. And so am I. LOOK BEHIND YOU!!
Why aren't these people entitled to a negative opinion? Why must they like something you like?
Can a negative opinion be accepted, without some offering a counter-argument towards WHY they should like it, if the negative thought is well thought out and presented well?
I have no problem with people disagreeing with me. People do it often. Infact, sometimes I like it when people disagree with me because it starts a discussion. But, when people constantly spin things and twist things, take low shots, and somehow always tie the topic, no matter what the topic is about, to something they hate and shamelessly slam it. That is what I have a problem with.RUEHL No. 925, Greenwich St., New York, NY
