Day 2.
I got up at 7:30, and used WiFi ($5 an hour, cheap!) in the Anaheim Plaza to do a trip report and watch the start of the Rose Parade. 9:30 I headed back to the room and discovered is was just starting to rain. Got back to the room and B was reading and the kids were still snoozing. I turned on the TV to the Rose Parade, and this slowly soon got people stirring. Pouring and blowing like CRAZY outside. So we, got everyone showed up and such, but no where to go.
About noon we decided we’d go see Kong. Showings at DTD at noon and 4PM. Darn. Okay, how about Block 30 in Orange…every hour. Well, plans changed about 4 times, and in the end, rain was really light so we just walked to Denny’s, then over to DTD and shopped a ton. B and her kids had no idea it was that big or had that many cool shops.
Took a walk through GCH, and damage doesn’t look too bad. Think I have B convinced to try to talk her family into moving the Minnie Breakfast at Plaza Inn to Storytellers. Better food for same price and choice of buffet or off the menu. (We’re coming back in a month with B’s mom, dad, sis, bro-in-law.) Bought New Year 2006 years in GCH store.
S11 really liked the Lego store. B loved the Anne Geddes and compass books store. She reads a ton! Wanted to look in Build a Bear, but it was PACKED out the door. Studio 59 was nice browsing. Bought some sugar free chocolate (B can’t eat sweets) and jelly beans. Walked into DLH and looked at the pool. May have to stay here sometime just so the kids can swim in that pool.
We ended up only having to kill about half an hour in the end, and went into the theater at 3:45 for the 4:10 showing.
Narnia is a cute little kids movie, but Kong is AWESOME… Sure, one less scene on the island (like the silly bugs scene) would have been better. But the movie is awesome.
We come out of the movie, and it clearly hasn’t rained in HOURS. Cool, let’s go to DL and see the Christmas Parade and fireworks. Got into the park at 7:38 and Town Square is only half full. Seating on benches with no one on curb in front of us. Just as the parade starts, we get a 3-minute DOWNPOUR that soaks the entire park. Then it clears up again. Half way through the parade the curb started to fill up with people watching the parade, so we actually had to stand….
Indy with 10 min wait, they’re only running 1 side. Splash is a walk-on, and NO ONE in line as we get off. As we’re walking past the smoking area by TSI landing, Fanasmic is starting so we grab front row viewing in the smoking area. Watched up to the pirate ship, then grabbed a snack and got perfect viewing for fireworks with no crowd. No snow…. Booo hoooo. My trip is ruined. Not. No one but me had seen the snow, but guess we’ll have to come back next year.
They announce the closing time has changed from 11 to 10. We grab a last ride on Space, and head to Denny’s for desert on the way back to the room. Lights off at midnight.
Here I am again, in the lobby of the hotel, typing up a trip report while everyone else sleeps in. 8AM, need to run to the gift shop to buy my WiFi time.
Oh, the hotel is full of the Seika Girl’s school marching band, from Japan, that marched in the Rose Parade. Kind of cool. Anything else of interest? Nope.

Ah, my bad. I read "no show" instead of "snow."
Me and my girlfriend were in front of the castle watching too... interestingly enough it did snow over by Fantasmic... we went that way as soon as the show ended and it was still covered in bubbles. Don't know why they didn't do it in front of the castle. So there.
