I was wondering what ideas people had for a new show in Fantasyland Theater. The only show I have seen there was Animazment, and I thought it was great. However, I have heard others say shows before it were so much better. Please e-mail and let me know what you would like to see next.

What sort of show would you like to see in the Fantasyland Theater?

When i read this post the one show that came to my mind first the Beauty and the Beast show that they had. It was awesome. the way they lifted the beast and then with sparkles and lights they changed him into a human character.
I would love to see a show that involves the audience similiar to the Hunchback in Notre Dame show. That show was nothing extravangant ut the idea of having all the dancers and music and stage almsot all around you really made it very energetic and fun. I think that the reason the Lion King show and the Tarzan show in DAK are so popular are for the same reason. I have not seen them but from what i have read and seen in pictures they seam to have the action and fantasy surround the audience.
Disney uses thesome of the most sufisticated technolgies in many of there attractions and some of the most simple ones but lately has not used them on their show. One example is Luminaria. (I love this show and listen to the soundtrack almost dailey) This show could have been a great hit (to bad disney marketing fell asleep again) but it eeded that extra lit OOW AHH. I think this could have been accomplished by using the one thing that many people complained bout, the smoke. The one thing that could have been added was lasers. Lasers look great with smoke. Maybe even flooded the lagoon with black light and used flourecent paint and lighting with the large projections.
Reason i brought this up is because i could imagine a show using lots of black lights, some smoke machines and probe lights. Then using projectors and live actors to create a living cartoon. Imagine how some drawn sketches moving at fast speed projected on smoke or canvances interacting with live actors. Think Alice in Wonderland series that Walt made. Since the theatre is not enclosed i would make this an evening show or better yet add some kind of coveraing that could be retracted when show ends. Of course to help with the illusion i would make sure that sets are three dimensional. the show could ivolve and change yearly to fit with new releases. It would be something fresh and could very well be marketed since the show would be a change from your normal cm in character costume show.
I am sure that the idea has some problems to correct , like how would cm interact with the projections and smoke without interfering with them but i think that a well coreograhed aproach and the dark lighting would help solve that. Or maybe a very thin sheet of a water curtain in front of stage could help hide some of these problems.
Of the topic. Every time i enter DCA the one thing that i wish they would change is the fact that if i stand outside the gates i could see the DCA hub and watch the parade from the gate. wouldn' it be awesome if they installed a hidden pipe running under the golden gate bridge and then had a very thin sheet of water (like a curtain) spraying down. As the day got darker the water would start and a hidden projector could project a film of crashing waves and ocean water (make it look like the bridge is actually over the ocean) The mist would be so thin that people would not really get wet but the hub would not very as visible to the entrance. (i know it is probably impossible to create such a thin sheet of film and control the wind from spreading it all over but i am sure the imagineers could do it.
Well i better stop this thing is too long bye

Wow!!! Quite an imagination you got there, I don't think I can top all of that!!! As far as changing the Fantasyland Theatre in D/L to a new great show, well I'd like to see the Imagineers scrap the lot, enclose the entire venue, turn it into a theatre & put the rumoured "Mickey's Phillarmagic" 3D adventure that is billed for debut in the current Lion King venue at the Magic Kingdom. It's supposed to feature a full compliment of SPFX & the Project apparently has Eisner's support for FL. This would also be a wicked addition to D/L park for the Park's upcoming 50th anniversary, but time will tell as to what will & won't happen I suppose....
