Since Disney just underwent a management shake up. Im banking on the idea that they are going to browse around the disney fan sites and see what kinds of things fans want. So I made this topic so we can discuss how wonderful a new Star Tours could be in the hopes that it stays on the first page and someone high up in Disney sees this.

Management shakeup? I have talked to CMs that say that some management people do read fan sites and stuff, and some probably do, but I don't think they would come to message boards to get ideas of what guests want.

Star Tour should be updated, but there are much higher priorities right now. Tomorrowland, ToonTown and DCA need more attractions. Poor DCA has two empty buildings that are just perfect for new rides. Star Tours is still fairly popular. It always seems to have wait times just slightly below Buzz's. I just don't see it being a big priority right now.
Hopefully, in a few years when time and money permits, Lucas will finally go to work on an updated Star Tours.

When and if they do update it, I hope they don't up date the intro video it's classic and part of the ride.

If I remember correctly, there was word that Mr Lucas was already in talks with or had the intention to meet with Disney to update or come up with a new change for Star Tours, no? Around the same time Ep III was about to release I believe. Then there was talk of this in the form of a rumor on some other site (can't remember) mentioning this possibly being finalized around the time of Star Tours 20th Anniversary in 2007 if they were doing this. If indeed Lucas and Disney are gearing for a Star Tour change I would be the first to praise the upcoming changes.
Nonetheless, it looks like Disney is already aware of Star Tours needing a makeover. Now that Eisner is gone, we should see which direction this project goes if approved.Fabio (MagicWDI) | Cinderella is my favorite!

If they upgrade it I would like it to be in the time period of Episode 3 like at the begeninng of the movie and how there is a war above Coruscant. That would be cool.

Im not sure how much room they need for Star Tours to do... well what Star Tours does... but i thought it would be cool since there are 4 different loading areas (i believe) to have 4 different destinations.

Not only would I like to see a new movie/destination, but improvements on the ride vehicles and projection. Maybe a wider screen, more wrap around, and maybe 3-D??? Also, improve the exit queue...pretty dull as it is.

^ You're right the exit is pretty dull, although the posters of the energizer bunny thing never get old

Four seperate destinations would be great for this ride and make it very re-rideable.
Or could they even do more than four destinations and make it completely random? That would make it even better.

Now that WDI is Lassiter's arena, we'll just have to see what happens overall with theme park attractions.
