DCA name change: Westcot?

I understand that Epcot still stands for that,you missed my point,my point was that Epcot's theme doesnt reflect its name.Its not a prototype city of the future,it never has been.The name is really pointless,it means nothing since its attached to a park that doesnt reflect its own name,thats what I meant.

Agreed, the only reason the company even made the park in the first place was out of necessity. Walt had been dreaming of a city of the future for well before the world's fair (progress city) and when he saw his time coming, rushed to try to get his company to carry out his last vision. He started releasing information to the media and talks with the Florida legislature all promising and tooting his new city. When Walt passed away, the company was basically cornered because they had to do something with this concept. Seeing as how they either thought Walt was out to lunch on his idea or couldn't do it with out him, they had to find some other way to bring to life the concept everyone had been promised. They eventually came out with name "EPCOT Center" because they couldn’t just call it by it’s original, it was entirely different from what was proposed and everyone knew it. Then when people had forgotten and no longer cared what the name stood for, they just got rid of the "Center" entirely for simplistic purposes. EPCOT is merle a name and a park built out of necessity, not much more. I am not saying it's a bad park, on the contrary, I just think it’s a flawed concept built mainly out of need rather than pure creative merit along with its name. Calling DCA WESTCOT is just furthering a messy piece of history that never really worked to begin with. I think the concept of EPCOT along with the name should really just be left alone unless the company decides to build a REAL city using it. Of courses that will probably never happen seeing as how they seem to stick to whats proven but you never know (hey someone else could even build it eventually). Most of you have probably already seen this but I thought I would just put it up for those who hadn’t. This was shown to the Florida legislature just after Walt died in order to persuade them to go forward with the Disney World project.

They have to change the name! It should be called California's Disney Adventure. It fits to me because it means California's interpretation of a Disney Adventure. Although some say Disneyland was all the adventure you needed in California, DCA was built to create another Disney adventure. Now unfortunetly not all agree that DCA is truely a Disney adventure like Disneyland is and may never be that way........... Did that make any sence?

If they call it Westcot, DCA should be demolished, and rebuilt with Future World and World Showcase.

Not to mention that a whole different was to be built (or was a concept to be built) with that existing name. WESTCOT has too many old issues already associated with it for them to ever even remotely consider it.
