    Rainforest Cafe'

I was trying to help some friends plan their Disney vacation. I was talking with them about the new DTD and debated telling them they should definately make the Rainforest Cafe' a must see.

What do you think? I have only been to the Florida one. If you had three kids ages 12, 10 and 6 would you make this a definate no miss eating destination if you had 3 days at DLR? Why?

    Thumbs up

We have been to the Rainforest Cafe in Seattle and in Pheonix. We loved it!!! But our children was the main reason. It is so nice to have the children entertained at a sit down restaurant. It makes for a more pleasant dining experience for the adults!!
While the food is mediocre-the atmosphere is eye-candy. Well worth telling your friends about it.

With that lineup of children, Toominnie, I'd say it's a can't miss with the kids. I'm not stunned by the food there, but the atmosphere is great, especially for kids. I love themed restaurants at theme parks, because kids don't like to sit down for long after having had so much fun minutes earlier. Rainforest helps counteract that impulse.

The aquariums alone are worth the wait for kids.

The one downside: you WILL have to buy them something besides food when you visit.
    It's just a flesh wound.

The food at Rainforest Cafes is not very good.

The decor is fantastic, and the drinks are fun, but the food totally kills it for me. We took our 9 year old niece there, and she didn't even like the food.

But, if that's not important, then it's a fun place to go for the family.

Jennifer and I love the Rainforest Cafe. Although we haven't been there in awhile. We really enjoy the atmosphere and the food is decent. I really like the Mojo bones!

I haven't been to the one in DTD, but I've been to the one here in Phoenix several times.
With the food some things are better than others and I will admit it's not the world's best cuisine.
But on the other hand its a very fun experience with impressive themeing, the occasional "tropical rain", and animictronic animals (i'm assuming they have them there?). I would reccomend it for the visual experience.

As has been stated before, the theming and decor is what really makes this restaurant. The food is not good, there isn't a large selection to choose from, and I thought the prices were pretty outrageous! The fish tanks are amazing, though. If I had the choice between that or the ESPN Zone, I would probably take kids to ESPN. There are games, and plenty of things going on to keep them occupied. Matter of taste, though.
