I thought the Paris castle was Belle's castle.

I personally like Disneylands Castle but Paris' looks much more majestic and fairytale like. Which works for Paris because Europe has quite a bit of real castles to begin with. So the touch of it being fairytale Castle makes it unique
It is true what someone mentioned earlier that Disneylands Castle is some times hard to see from main street plaza. Many times the Hubs trees completely cover it. If you see it from far the Partners statue even makes it seam smaller than it is.
Anothr thing is that is too close in size to the rest of mainstreets buildings.
Maybe it was done on purpose so that it would not overshadow the feeling of mainstreet but Castles have always been bigger than its surrounding structures. At least in fairytales.
As for MK Cinderella castle, i never liked it. Looks way to tall and narrow. They went a bit too high with this one.

I do remember reading that SBC was always meant to be the size it is so as not to intimidate the kids. Same thing with Main St. buildings. Forced perspective was used on both these examples, as well as the Matterhorn.
As a matter of fact, Space Mountain was sunk into the ground a bit so as to not over power SBC.
And as far as the pictures of all 3 castles go, I have always found that, for some reason, SBC looks smaller in a picture than it does in person. I have no problem seeing SBC when I'm in Main St. Maybe it's just me. Maybe it's just looks bigger in person because of forced perspective and the camera isn't fooled by it.

I voted for SBC mostly because I've never seen Paris in person and WDW was a very long time ago but I must say in photos CC looks quite impressive. Its quite the weenie.
weenie, HAH! Love learning new words.
Had to go with the one I've laid actual eyes on, though. This is the gate of Heaven. Enter ye all by this door. (This door is kept locked because of the draft. Please use side entrance)

Viewing all the castles in print, I would have to say Cinderella's castle at WDW looks the best. WDW's castle is more balanced within it's surroundings.
I think Sleeping Beauty Castle in Paris is too noisy, too busy.
DL's and HKDL are nice. DL's in my opinion was not portioned correctly, especially when viewing from Main Street. I still love the look of it however. HKDL's version I think fits it's surroundings better than DL's, it stands out more.
Overall, I voted for DL's version. Just because I'am random.

03-16-2006 02:30 PM #40Well, Disneyland is bit more of a mature park than HKDL, in that the trees have grown, but cut down, replaced, cut down, etc. HKDL doesn't have that much in growth so far, does it?
