I'm sure the reason is more financial than anything else. If new attractions end up boosting DCA's attendance, I fear the Placemaking projects will never see the light of day.
I think what you will most likely see is placemaking piggybacked onto attractions,to justify the cost.Similar to what they did with Monsters Inc/HPB,and now if the rumor is correct, with Paradise Pier.

I dont think we will see placemking for the sake of placemaking.Unless there is an attraction attached to it,it probably wont happen. Its just easier to market and there is a defiante return investment since an attraction is added to it.

I dunno, they didnt do all of DLs construction/rehabs all at once, they did it in phases. It seems like thats how they operate,I dont think its an excuse.

The train is a better store front than Imagineer's or Welcome to CA.

But it is no Main Street.

I knew Main Street, and you transportation hub, are no Main Street USA.

Transprotation Hub, the Dan Quale of palcemaking projects.

I've been thinking this as well, but seriously, I doubt there will ever be an attraction in the hub. If that project is ever gonna happen, it has to be placemaking for placemaking sake. Then again, maybe that is why they were pushing moving Golden Dreams and busses...... SOME lame attraction to attach to the project to help justify it.

I doubt a Cementdor Flats redo will happen unless they have more trouble renting the CF flats view rooms than the Grizzly view rooms.

The DL rehab was likely done with existing employees while most new construction is done with sub-contractors.

While I'm not convinced the good news is Midway and bad is delay in hub placemaking, (it makes more sense than any of my gueses) if that is correct, then I'd guess it is budget as well.
