I just don't think 6 years between brand new "E-Tickets" is outrageous, and I believe DCA WILL get a new "E-Ticket" attraction in the next few years, be it Incredibles, or something else. |

Just because they closed it down doesn't mean they got the money and/or time invested into it back. Also, the argument can be made that the new Space Mountain required as much (if not more) time and money to install than any other new E-Ticket would. Speaking of Rocket Rods, if the Incredibles attraction is having design problems, I'd rather they pushed its construction back by a year or two until they had a reliable system ready to run than to start construction now, hoping they'll have the kinks worked out by the time it's ready to open (which, I believe was a problem with both Test Track in Epcot and Rocket Rods at DL). Tower of Terror took more than 2 years to build, and that was with a known and proven ride system. Everest took more than 2 years to build, again with a known and proven ride system. Even if they started construction on an Incredibles E-Ticket tomorrow, it wouldn't open before late 2008 (nor would any other E-Ticket they might decided to put into DCA if they abandon the Incredibles concept). If it'll take another year of design revisions and testing to ensure that the system will be reliable, I don't have any problem waiting until 2010 for it.

good points Getbak, alot of people like to conviently leave out Rocket Rods, that WAS an E ticket,or at least marketted that way,so it technically hasnt been 11 years since DLs last E ticket.
and yes,I also think Space Mnt would be considered an E ticket too, even though its a revamped versian of an old ride,it still requires the same amount of money get to get it up and runnng. so this whole notion that "poor DL" didnt get a E ticket for 11 years is a bit bogus. Not to mention DL just got a ton of new stuff for its 50th which probably equates to a E ticket (if not more). And to top it off its coming out of that huge celebration with (guess what) a E ticket!.Obviously DCA is the park in need of the big ride,Disneyland isnt,DL can wait,I hope it doesnt get another E ticket for a very long time after Nemo,it simply doesnt need it.Heck it didnt need it before Nemo. |

DCA has recieved MANY things, even SINCE Tower. Block Party, Monsters. It just had a new ride greenlit, and obviously, Disney is interested in spending money on the park, as Marcie suggested. DCA is NOT the "poor, ingnored park" that some like to believe. |

the bottom line is,Disneyland already has a huge amount of E tickets, the most E tickets out of ANY Disney theme park no doubt. The roster of attractions at the Anahiem Disneyland is by far the best lineup of rides that any magic kingom has seen, and probably any disney park.Obviously it wasnt in "need" of yet another E ticket.
DCA however IS in need of another "wow" attraction, yes we've had some minor/moderate additions to DCA since Tower of Terror, which is great, but DCA really needs a knock ur socks off only at DCA kind of ride.Disneyland has several of those already. Not to say that Disneyland should never be changed and sit stagnant,I just think at this time it didnt need another E ticket,it should have gone to DCA,and I just find it depressing that Incredibles and Cars cant seen to get the steam to get a greenlight while Disneyland is currently building ANOTHER E ticket for itself. Its the equivalant of stepping over a homeless person to give Donald Trump a million bucks. |

I think that if the Incredibles continue to cause delays then they should go with Cars. The Incredibles continues to be pushed back and 2010 is too long. The ride system for Cars is already developed and it seems like it could be open sooner. They just need to put the Incredibles on the back burner so it's issues can be worked out.
As for the Pier placemaking, I doubt the changes will be drastic. It sounds like TDA is not interested in spending a lot of money re-doing areas of the park. That tells me that the changes to the Pier won't be drastic. I think a lot more trees and foliage behind Screamin' would make a huge difference. Also, a surf-themed queue for Screamin' would be awesome. |

Listen I'd love to see DCA get a new, great ride, and obviously plans are in the works for it, be it Cars, Incredibles, whatever. And I just don't see why many people on this site give up hope so fast when it comes to DCA. Plans come, plans go, but ultimately what Marcie is saying sounds very positive to me. She's excited about Midway Madness, the facelift of PP and evidently Placemaking funds are being funneled into other things at the park. I hardly see a dark cloud of doom hovering over DCA's future. |
