    Rumors, Facts, and Lies....Al 5/9/06

    Be Honest You knew this was coming.

    Al Talks about:

    Food and Wine Festival: No Comment haven't been
    The Pending Finding Nemo Mess: Why is everything going to destroy DL. In this case the Crowds...he also had good things to say.
    Monster's Inc: In a year it'll have a 3 min wait like Pooh. In fact it rates as highly as Pooh does customer satisfaction. Disagree w/ this. It'll be a 10min wait like alice.
    Mansions and Pirates: He isn't hip on the hype of the mansion
    Not Enough Castmembers: Who Cares
    Jolly Trolly Might Be Back: Won't care
    And the Big One DCA's Attendance over the past several weeks and how the DCA is once again "bombing": Here are the numbers he produced

    Saturday, April 22nd

    * DCA Projected Attendance – 30,000 | Actual – 32,200

    Saturday, May 6th

    * DCA Projected Attendance – 15,000 | Actual – 12,100
    * Disneyland Projected Attendance – 41,000 | Actual – 42,100

    The Sunday attendance numbers for both parks since the 2Fer ended have looked like this:

    * DCA Projected Attendance – 30,000 | Actual – 30,900
    * Disneyland Projected Attendance – 56,000 | Actual – 59,700

    Sunday, April 30th

    * DCA Projected Attendance – 16,000 | Actual – 17,100

    Now argue and swear at each other

    PEACE

    I Love how this past Sunday DCA apprently was over projected addmisions but still couldn't just leave it had to add the line that annoys all!.... Over 10000 AP's! Blah!

    He says this is because of the Food and wine Festival but, it wasn't even the first weekend! so i don't really think that is why and i find it hard to believe that he would know the numbers for starters and how many were AP's

    Looking forward to the Subs!
    This Weekend Tracy and i are going to double team Don Guise with our big ideas...

    Al's been reading too much about Winston Churchill...he will "never, never, never give up" on his hatred for DCA, no matter what happens in reality.

    ^I would assume that who ever gave him the numbers gave him the AP #'s as well.

    The guy should just write one article for the whole year, save himself some time. Because everything he says is so predictable. This is not journalism, it's trash.

    Peace out.

    Are the numbers he is using correct? We were there on May 6th and there seemed to be more the 12,000 people in DCA. Then again I didn't sit there and count everyone that walked into the park. And if they are correct how the heck does he get them since Disney does not openly releace them?

    I think monsters will hold a good line beyond 6 months....

    1) It is better than Pooh.

    2) It is currently DCA's only family friendly C-ticket. DL had Pan, Toad, Alice, Snow, Pinoc, Small World, etc to pull crowds from Pooh. DCA has zip.

    I do think there is concern for Nemo subs. Capacity is very low and crowds will be huge. Capacity is 1000 an hour or so... at least that is what it used to be. So on a moderate day of 40,000 when DL is open 12 hours, less than 1/3rd of the people in the park are going to be able to ride.

    Compare this to Space Mt that has double the capaicty, a hieght limitation and a serious thrill factor. So, on a day with 40,000, there may only be 30,000 tall enough/brave enough to ride. At 2000 an hour for 12 hours 80% of target can ride.

    30% of target for subs....80% of target for Space, and Space had 2-3 hour wait! Subs does create a SERIOUS concern of people showing up to ride being unable to.

    Remeber the 5 hour waits for Indy that first summer? I do.... And that was with 2400 and hour.

    Seriously, the capaicty of subs scares me big time!!!

    And, those attendance numbers have a strong element of truthieness... Which of course means "sounds true even if it isn't". Once again DLR marketing has shown that people will come to DCA if it is free with DL purchase...(hopper, AP, 2fer). AND, that may be enough to make the park a "success" given the very moderate construction budget.

    Well, look at it this way, WrongHead, with so many people on the TL side of the park for a change, it'll be perfect Pirates/HM/Splash/Big Thunder riding time.
