It was in the news a while back, but at the Animation Guild blog it was said that Toy Story 3 is actually not in production anywhere. This was from someone who supposedly works for either disney or pixar, not quite sure. Again, who knows, but I would say it is a safe bet that Pixar's vision of Toy Story 3 will come to fruition sometime in the near future.

Can't really say I'm hoping that somehow there's gonna be a Home on the Range attraction, ya know?

So tell me this, now that John Lasseter is in charge of WDFA, including the Pixar Subsidiary, will the next Cars be a Disney or a Pixar picture? What about Meet the Robinsons? or Ratatouille? At what point will folks stop complaining about Pixar? John Lasseter is our generation's Walt Disney in that he tells well crafted stories that appeal to the whole family through peerless animation. The fact that the animation is computer animation shouldn't really matter and quite frankly I'm baffled at how much it seems to matter to some of the folks here.

Now, I agree that there are some potential problems ahead if that planned Luxo Jr. Dark Ride goes into effect. I would have much prefered a dark ride based off of the ORIGINAL version of Knick Knack , but I don't think that's gonna happen any time soon. Anywhooooo, the only problem that I have with Pixar themed rides is that Cars and the Incredibles Aren't opent yet.

    interesting question.

I now that any previous movies by Pixar still have to be considered a Disney presentation of a Pixar movie. The newer ones will just be Disney/Pixar.

I made a check on all movies which are in dvelopment and will be released between january 2006 and thru 2008. "Cars" is listed as a Disney/pixar production and Ratatoulle is listed as a Buena Vistas release. I think that is a mistake. Why would they list Ratatoulle as a Buena Vista release. It needs to be listed as a Disney/Pixar release.

But i agree i dnot not understand what the whole Pixar - Disney debate is all about.

thats true. i forgot about that. I have a feeling that Disney has been trying to emphasise to people that they are not shows since they also used to clasify some of its shows like Fantasmic as attractions.

    Lasseter also calls them rides.

Actually, even the "Disney/Pixar" releases are Buena Vista releases since Buena Vista Pictures Distribution, Inc. is Disney's major distribution company. As far as I am aware of Buena Vista Pictures distributes the films presented by Walt Disney Pictures, Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures, and has their film printed and shipped by Technicolor. Miramax distributes their own films, and I believe also uses Technicolor.

I believe from Toy Story to Cars will all be Walt Disney Pictures presentation of Pixar Animation Studios films, since that was under the original agreement which I still think stands. After Cars is when I believe the first Disney/Pixar film will be labeled. It will be knows as a Disney•Pixar film under Walt Disney Pictures, released by Buena Vista Pictures of course.

Buena Vista does distribute Miramax DVD's. Although I'm not sure about the theatrical release of Miramax films.
