I know there has been discussions when the rumor was being thrown around about a possible "Cars" attraction being built at dca on where a showrom would fit.
Some felt there was no way it would fit and that if it did it would take up most of the remaining Timon lot.
Others said it didn't some, some said they wer not sure becuase a showroom would be huge.
so since i was bored i went ahead and got an aerial shot of Test track and placed it on an aerial shot of DCA expansion areas. They are both at the same %.
Notice that even if they copied the show room exactly from Epcot (although i do not see why it would be the same) that the attraction would fit fine with plenty of room left for future expansion.
on one placement i elangated the testrack outside track a bit but i would guess that if it was ever built at DCA the show building would be changed to better use surrounding land. Also the outside track could be reconfigured or removed.
I tried two locations. One behind TOT where it was supposedly considered for. I left plenty of room so that it is not near the large powerlines but used up some of the wasted space of the timon entrance road. (i am guessing that will eventually be removed)
I also tried placing it in the corner where hollywood and dine is. using some of the backstage area where the tram route is (they could even place it there without wasting timon space only problem i see is building the track and building around the monorail track which is possible.
Its just for fun to show how much room DCA actually has for future expansion in it future even if a large showroom is added for a testrack "CARS" attraction with a new land.

Love it next to MI. I think it'd be an awesome expansion for that area.

It isn't a bad idea. California is all about cars. Installing a mini freeway along the side of DCA makes artistic sense.
Ooops. I forgot. Some of you dont think DCA has any artistic sense.
Those of you who studied the Arts and Crafts or Art Deco movements might want to chime in.

Its too bad that the area already situated as route 66 has very little room for any large show room. A "CARS" testrack attraction would add a very interesting environment with an elavated track and cars zoomig by.
Best thing would be for a whole new route 66 land behind TOT.
If i remember correctly someone had mentioned that the "CARS" show building would be themed to look like the outside of a racetrack with part of the track exiting in one area then circling around the stadium. The reas underneath the elevated track would have been walkways and themed stores and eateries.
It sure sounds like and attraction that should make it to DCA someday.
With this after "Incredibles" the park would have some of the best attractions in any of the parks and be a wonderful compliment to Disneyland.
