I rode Space Mountain twice in the past month and noticed something was terribly wrong - the classic theme music was gone!
I'll have to ask a CM when I go next, but does anybody know what happened? Hopefully it's a malfunction, but I sadly doubt it.
The music really added to the experience, and I hope they bring it back soon. Oddly enough, California Screamin' has some cool music - maybe DL can only afford music for one rollercoaster at a time?!

I remember not hearing any music last time I rode it, which was all the way back in August of last year. I hope it will come back soon! Maybe it will return when they open the new photo purchase thing?

It wasnt playing when i went a few weeks ago either. I was upset. I asked them when it was going to be fixed and they just shrugged.

We just got back from DL and the music on SM was working on about half the rockets on Saturday but on Sunday none were working.

We also have been riding Space Mountain with no music...maybe we will get lucky and the rockets will be replaced in the fall. Keep your fingers crossed!

The last few times we have gone on it, there has been no music. To me it is like riding pirates with no sound, kinda weird. I always know which turns are coming by the music, and am thrown off alittle without it.
The last time we rode it there were some ppl in line with us who had never been on the ride before and we told them they will like the ride. The first half of the ride we had music and we could hear them laughing and hooting behind us. Then the music just stopped and the last part of the ride they were much quieter too. But I feel pretty confident this is just some kind of technical problem and maybe the current budget is just not allowing alot for repairs. I know the music will return some day!!!!

Sounds like it won't be on when we're there this weekend....
Oh Well....Classic edition...cool.
The fact is that if you know that the music isn't there...it's not bad at all. However if you expect the music to be there and it's not...you are instantaniously put into an annoyed status and therefore ruin your own ride. So, if we expect no music...then it's a nice suprise if we get it! All of this coming from the most pessimistic person I know...me!
