I'm sorry, completly random, but just thought of that last night.
No, he's not spanish. It's a spanish fort/town, not an english one. It would mess with the theme.

WELL on the topic of the pirates new tales, I think the few changes to the overall story will make it easier for people to understand whats happening. Were as in the past the storyline consisted of A pirate ship shooting up a fort, and the pirates burning it down and robing/ buying girls and some how leaving with treasure.

I never actually understood were the tresure came in it just made sense Pirates need tresaure.

ok so thats all I have to say
Guess what...the ride, whether or not it made sense to you, made sense to all the people that enjoyed it before now. A ride doesn't have to make sense or have this elaborate backstory created by a bunch of hack Disney artists to cover up their shortcomings as storymen. Why do I have to watch a video or read stuff on the internet to understand a ride? I just want to get on and enjoy, not worry about some dead pirate bla bla bla.

Why do the words "digitally enhanced" excite people? I'm guess this ride will be as good as New Coke.

the lighting in the bayou is now purple instead of blue.

i didn't memorize what the old captain who attacked the fort said, but it seems like barbossa has the same script, but with the inclusion of saying "jack sparrow"

i agree with briguy. as cool as the new AAs are, they add too much. maybe it was because i was really tired or maybe it was just because it was new, but i had trouble keeping up with the story.

As a projectionist it excites me a lot! I work with both digital DTS and Dolby Digital systems as well as optical analog Dolby SR equipment. Comparing the two sounds you will see there is a huge difference in sound quality. It is night and day with the clarity that comes from digital sound, especially from DTS. The analog sound is a little warmer and softer around the tones. You also get the sensation of less sound overall with less highs and lows.

Turning the soundtrack digital and re-mastering it also improves the overall quality. There is a difference in the quality when it comes to the different forms of analog to the much superior quality in a digital format.

Here it is finally!

Just a few of us have been able to ride the new version of Pirates of the Caribbean. Anyway, Disney has just released some great pics of the inside of the show building.
So if you want to check out how Jack Sparrow looks as an audio-animatronic, just check this French website that just published the high-res pictures :

There even is a picture of Johnny Depp close to his robotic brother. They really look awsome !

They look great. They look VERY much like the actors. My ONLY critique would be that they look a little TOO real, next to the rather stylized, original pirates. Overall, though, great look. But, what's with the jail/dog/key scene? What's new there? One pirate looks like he's just wearing Jack Sparrows' headband, but otherwise, same face.

I noticed that too,Jack looks terrific, but he almost looks TOO good next to the older AAs.But other than that, its perfect.
