Thanks for the info, Marcie. That cleared up a lot of things I was unsure about, especially why I haven't heard of similar problems with Test Track at Epcot. I think you are right about the lying thing too - They probably wanted to reopen it, but just couldn't.

And again, I agree they tried to fix the rods, but nobody forced them to publicly state they were coming back. With all the confidential information Disney always holds back, in their very own right, I just can't understand why this was not another thing kept quiet. We could have been in limbo wondering if they were coming back and just either been pleasanty surprised, whether the outcome was the reopening of the rods or a brand new attraction.

Like I keep saying, my resitment is not that an attraction I loved is gone, it's the game they played.

Sure the final decision was made last week, but they knew they were running into real problems for months. They didn't just figure that out last week, they just finally made a decision last week. If you called just a week ago, you were officially told yes the Rocket Rods are coming back. I don't blame the poor CM who was trained like a parrot to say "Rocket Rods are Coming Back" I blame Disney managment for putting them through that.

If when they first realized it was going to be a bigger task then they imagined, they publically changed their statement to "We hope to have the attraction back up as soon as possible" I'd have been disapointed, but not angry. Like I said it was their decision to promise they were coming back, nobody forced them to say that.

I did not realize that Light Magic was supposed to return to, you always teach me something new Marci!

But back to the point, if a president elect says "No New Taxes" and then as presdient raises taxes America has no problem interpreting that as a lie. Nobody cares about the behind the scenes details. But when Disney breaks a promise we feel like we need to sugar coat it, how dare a Disney fan accuse Disney of lying.

I'll get over it, I have not stopped loving Disney, but that doesn't mean I'm going to brush off the lie they just told, and will forever as they announce future things, wonder if it really will be, or if details beyond their control will again mean that a future announcement will not be true. But I guess that won't be a lie either.

I, too, liked the ride. However, I will state that I never stood in line to ride them. My first experience was at the 1999 CM Holiday Party. I was able to ride multiple times without ever standing in line.

It is funny cause I just saw one of the cars while riding the Monorail on Friday from the Hotel to Tomorrowland. Maybe they were getting it ready for ebay

    Let's hope Buzz comes soon.

    Cool

I can see what you are saying Darren, and I think Disney just thinks differently than you. I think if you really feel strongly about this issue and others that are affecting you as a long time Disney guest, write that letter to Cynthia. She is a great person, and I think she would read your letter with respect.

I see things differently as you also, but that does not mean you are wrong. Just feel differently on how things should be handled.

If You do send that letter, I wish you the best of luck with getting a response. Just remember to add the positive and the negative within the park. It is always nice to add the good things!
