    Question Adventure trouhg inner space..?

    When I saw this picture:
I knew this attraction was at the place where Star Tours now is, because the queu from Star Tours in Disneyland Paris is exactely the same. The screen shows the Endor/Tatooine express and the "monecule" is at the place where now a Star Speeder 3000 is! I thougt it is great to recognize this place as the "new" Star Tours site, because i have never been in Disneyland Anaheim!

My question: did anyone of you ever ride "Adventure Trough inner space" and does somebody know where I can find pictures from it?

    Cool

    Disneytom,
    I have definitely ridden it.
As I've mentioned before Adventure Through Inner Space was my first must do attraction. In my younger years we hit EVERY TIME we went to The Park. It was an awesome attraction and in the days of E tickets this attraction was presented "free" by Monsanto, which made us kids just have to do it. In fact, our crew referred to ATIS simply as "Monsanto." Plus it had a constant, fast moving line.

Pictures...(posted this same pic in the "bring it back" folder just below this a few days ago) This is the only one I have run across lately, I assume you got it from Yesterland, that's a great site.

I'll post or let you know if I find any other pics.

Closing ATIS in 1986 was the end of an era.
Adventure Through Inner Space AKA Monsanto was the joint...great attraction!

Adventure through Inner Space was a classic. I rode it many many times. Like Pirate said, a must do attraction, I think it was a D ticket attraction if I remember correctly.

I remember when I was little and I used to think those blue omnimovers would really shrink and go through the tube.

Then you were in Disney danger how you shrunk to small and they might not be able to bring you back.

It was a classic Disney story telling ride.

I would love to see a video of this attraction.

DLMAGICDARREN, IT WAS FREE!!! It was about a "D" grade but sponsered & presented "free," the Monsanto thang. As a kid we thought this was so cool & I think how we got started.
& ya' vids (or pics) would be sweet.

Michael, any vids or pics lurking out there?

A while back my bro emailed me an ebay link that auctioned the shruken, plastic people in the monsanto doom buggys that were coming out at the top of the microscope. Like 3 or 4 feet long & 3 or 4 buggys. They were going a couple grand$. Cool pieces through & truley rare.

Free? Wow, I always thought Lincoln was the only free attraction back in the ticket days. Anybody know why this was free while other sponsered attractions required tickets?

I'm afraid I am old enough to remember this too. It was neat in that you had to use your immagination. One of the parts "shrank" you to the size of a snowflake and then to a molecule, and then to an atom, and then you passed the nucleus of the atom. As you got smaller the temperature seemed to get cooler too. ( on a hot California summer day this was wonderful!)I think it was one of the first constantly moving rides. Jumping on while it was still moving was fun as a small kid. At the end there was a display of how chemicals (manufactered by Monsanto) were used to better life. I guess this is how it related to Tomorrowland. I think their corporate jingle was "Better living through chemistry".

    Cool

Ya', that was the finale, passing the actual nucleus. Also cool when the electrons were orbiting around you. Then you went under the microscope & saw the big eye looking down at you. It was pretty campy, full Outer Limits. Great attraction.

I was young when this attraction was around! That eyeball....I remember it well, it creeped me out. There was always that cool shrinking of the doom-buggy's that set the scene. I really like this one, but I don't remember it very well. I remember just saying to everyone that the shrinking was real and I always looked for people in my group that were ahead of us in the shrink-tube. I never saw them of course, but I always believed that sometime I would.

My favorite ride...I cried when they closed this one. One of my strongest memories of 'first time on a ride' was this attraction. It seems like it was yesterday even though I was about 11.

My half sister never went on it, so all she knows is the part of the microscope they moved into space mt. She recently had an MRI and the machine entrance looked like it was getting smaller and smaller...I was joking with her that she finally is going on (add echo here) an adventure through inner space.
